You Have To Take The Good.....

With the bad.  This week has been a perfect example of this.....

My week started out pretty freaking awesome.  I finally found out that my local watering hole has decided to hire me as a part-time bartender.  I'm excited.  It's an under the table job taking both my hourly wage and tips at the end of the night at least two days a week.  This would pretty much recoup the money that I'm losing to my bankruptcy payout every month.  YAY, I'll be back to bringing home 20some dollars an hour rather than the approximately $9 I'm bringing home now.  I know the point of Chapter Whateverthefuck I filed is to pay back the debt so I could keep the house, but DAMN, they really do cut you super close to bringing nothing home.  If there is any fluctuation in your monthly expenses, it does not work out so well.  I was barely treading water before and being as I have a shit ton of fines and a 3 day stint in alcohol rehab to pay for, I pretty much had no other choice, but to get another job.

I'd been working on the owner of the bar for a couple of weeks now because I knew one of the girls there was quitting.  The other bartender really went to bat for me and they went back and forth on it for awhile and Monday I got the decision.  I trained on Tuesday and I close tonight and Saturday.  I'm not a big fan of working 7am-4pm then 7pm-2:30am, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do to pay the bills.  My regular days will be Monday and Wednesday, which means Tuesday and Thursday I'll be super bitchy for awhile, but oh well.  I'll probably pick up another shift on the weekends that I don't have Little E.  The kids are actually happy about it.  They're really missing that they used to pretty much get whatever they wanted (within reason), but now to even be able to afford a pair of shoes is a huge deal in our house, so we need to get things back to the way they used to be.

Knowing I got the job and that things were going to be looking up I was ready for a great, yet exhausting week.  When Tuesday rolled around I'm still in a decent mood because of the job thing and Jordan texts me to ruin it all....

It started out as a simple "I'm going to keep E since the weather is bad, you can pick him up tomorrow."  What?  Is this YOU TELLING me what's going to happen?  I don't think so.  So I texted back "Well, you'll have to take him to daycare tomorrow so he'll get his hours in."  His text back? "I'm not doing that, he can take a vacation day."  Me "No, he can't.  Since you pulled him out two days last week because you moved back home, they used them as vacation days.  I'll be there at 5 to pick him up."  Him "Let's get this straight 1. I don't give a fuck about daycare 2. You don't have a driver's license, so you can't pick him up and 3. I'll call the police if you come here and try to get him."  Me " Have you lost your mind or is that dumb whore controlling your mind again?  I'm not driving and I'll be there at 5 to get him." Him "Let's see what Children's Services has to say about all this.  If you come here I'm not giving him to you."  Me "I'll have an officer escort me, that's contempt of court.  See you at 5."  Him "Also, I'm going to have you investigated for child abuse.  He has a bruise on his arm and is always dirty & smells like shit when I pick him up.  The shit has hit the fan and by the time it's done, you'll have only weekend visitation if you're lucky."  Me "Clearly you've lost your mind.  See you at 5."

So immediately I go into panic mode.  Who the hell do I even call about a violation of a court order?  Luckily my FB friends are well rounded in this matter and they point me in the right direction.  I'm finally told by the Columbus PD that they won't forcibly remove the child from the house, but they will try and persuade him.  If he doesn't comply, I can file a report and go down to the prosecutor's office.  I say ok and then really start to stress.  Really?  He can keep the kid until I have him hauled off to jail?  That doesn't seem right.  Why do we have an agreement in place at all then if it's not going to be enforced?  My blood was boiling all day long.  There wasn't really anything anyone could say to make it better.  I've never had to deal with something like this before.

I finished up my workday, not really accomplishing anything and the driver came to get me to take me out there.  When I was close, I called the police and they escorted me to his house.  As soon as we walked up to the door, Jordan jumped out the door looking like he was ready to fight.  The officer told him that he had to give me E or he would face charges.  He looked at me and asked me who was driving the car.  I told him it was none of his business because it wasn't me.  The officer agreed.  Jordan goes off on another rant about how he's going to make my life miserable until he gets full custody of E.  I just stand there and stare at him because CLEARLY he has lost his mind.  At one point the bitch opens the door and he tells her to get E's coat on.  She looks surprised.  HAAAAA YOU DIRTY MIND CONTROLLING PIRATE HOOKER!!!

Your evil plans to take the attention of your sorry cheating ass have failed.  I get the kid back.  Go ahead, send Children's Services to my house, have me investigated.  I'm not afraid.  My kids are clothed, bathed, have a roof over their head with all the necessary utilities and they're obviously well fed.   I don't have a drug habit and though I may drink a bit too much sometimes, you can't take my kid for that.  Believe me, this isn't my first rodeo.....  I paid $5,000 for the ex-husband to get custody of his kid.  The only reason he got the kid?  Two positive hair follicle tests for cocaine and still then, he only got temporary custody.  The State of Ohio LOVES moms and rarely sides with any dad no matter how much money they have to throw into a case.  So you go ahead, spend all that money on that attorney, you're not going to get anywhere, I'll make sure of that........  Because I know it's not you that's doing this, it's the DIRTY MIND CONTROLLING PIRATE HOOKER, who I would punch in her not so pretty face if I knew she wouldn't press charges.....

This?
This is my baby, a dirty bruised up smelly boy..... And I don't mind the fight... Really.... Bring it on..... But I'm warning you, because obviously you don't know, you never mess with a woman's kids.......

Sleep & Who Doles Out Foster Kids?

Last Friday I was kind of off.  Well, actually last week was kind of off.  I'm in that dreaded insomnia pattern I hate again, falling asleep at a reasonable time, but then waking up at like 3 or 4 am.  This is really not great when I go out and don't get home till 2 or so, but it's whatever.  The body and mind are going to do what they want, regardless of what you want them to do.  Apparently Friday my body and mind gave out.  I laid down to watch tv and nap after work (4:30ish) and didn't wake up until shortly after 9 on Saturday morning.  Nobody checked on me, nobody woke me up.  They obviously knew better.

When I got up on Saturday my body hurt all over, like I was curled up in the fetal position all those hours I was asleep.  Truth be told, I probably was.  I'm not a spread out and take up the entire bed girl anymore like I used to be.  Hell, when I first got my bed I slept diagonally in it, just because I could.  Now I'm content with my place I have worn into my side.

I managed to get out of bed and make me and the boys some breakfast and get some stuff done around the house.  I had plans to take Brandon up to Mad River to get some snowboarding in on Saturday.  He was excited and Isaiah, who might as well be my third child, was excited to go for the first time as well.  I'm not sure if I've talked about Isaiah before,  but let's do that real quick, because I was pissed off about what happened Saturday.

Isaiah started hanging out with my kids probably right around the beginning of last school year.  He was always over after school and eventually he started hanging out and staying on the weekends.  I pretty much have an open policy about the boys having kids stay over.  As long as their parents know I'm in and out of the house and they've shown that they are respectful while I'm around, I'll generally give them the benefit of the doubt and don't have a problem with them staying.  Isaiah is always the first one to take out the trash or do anything I asked around the house.  Truthfully, most days I like him better than my own kids...

This past summer I found out from Gavin that Isaiah is a foster kid.  I would have never guessed.  He's very well rounded, a student athlete and gets really good grades in school.  All the foster kids I have ever known have been troubled kids.  Gavin told me that Isaiah hangs out at our house because his home life sucks.  His foster mom is never there and his dad isn't all that nice to him.  Immediately I go into defensive mode because by this time, I have become close to this kid.  So close in fact, that he calls me mom.  I explain to Gavin that it's important that we're good friends and do what we can for Isaiah.  Gavin already knows this and as the summer wears on, Isaiah is at the house more and more.  There are weeks where he goes home only to get more clothes and I'm ok with it.  We take him everywhere with us and he seems genuinely grateful for the opportunities.

School starts again and it's a few weeks before we see Isaiah. He's busy with football training every day after school and just generally getting settled into the school year.  Finally after that all dies down, he's back to being around all the time again.  Right before Christmas he and Gavin had a choir concert over at the middle school.  He shows up at my house, dressed for the concert shortly after I get home from work and says "Mom, can I ride with you guys to the concert so I don't have to walk?"  What.The.Fuck?  What fucking parent DOESN'T go to their kids events??  Come to think of it, did they go to any of his football games???  I have no idea, but I would have went if I knew they didn't.    Anyways, I tell him of course, he thanks me and takes off to play video games with my kids.  I take him to the concert and bring him home.  Again, he thanks me as we drop him off at a dark house and feel bad that this kid is going home to nobody. Fast forward to this weekend.

Gavin doesn't want to go snowboarding with me and Brandon.  Ok, whatever, but Brandon doesn't want to go just me & him, so he asks me if Isaiah can go.  I say yes, as long as he can pay for himself.  As much as it sucked to tell him that, I don't have a spare $65 to pay for him and his equipment rental.  Hell, I barely have enough money to pay for the gas to get out there.  Isaiah says he thinks he has enough at home and he would go check.  This is Friday.  I fall asleep in the middle of the evening and when I get up, the driver calls me and tells me that he thinks he can get a lift ticket for Isaiah to go with us to Mad River.  I ask him why he would do that and he tells me that he hung out with the kids for a bit Friday night while I was sleeping and after Isaiah got back from going to his house to check for his money, he was upset because his mom had taken it.  The driver was just trying to be nice and help the kid out so he could go with us.

What.The.Fuck?  What parent steals money from their kid?  I mean, I'm known to occasionally borrow some from them, but to just take it?  These people get paid over $800 A MONTH to take care of this kid.  He shouldn't have to use his own money to go skiing in the first place if you're making that kind of loot off a kid that you pretty much only but crappy clothes and let him sleep there a few nights a week.  I mean, the kid eats and sleeps more at my house than theirs.....  I was furious when I got off the phone with the driver.  I mean, I was happy he scored the kid a pass, but I was still pissed.

I walked out into the living room just as Brandon and Isaiah were getting ready to leave.  When I asked them where they were going, they told me to shovel driveways so that Isaiah could go with us.  I pretended like I didn't know what was going on and they told me.  I told them to work hard and they'd make plenty of money.  We weren't leaving until late in the afternoon, so they had plenty of time and only needed to make $30 to rent his equipment.  I felt bad I couldn't just tell them not to worry about it and pay for it myself.  Two hours later, they came back and were done for the day.  They had made like $50.  Isaiah went home to change clothes and get some extra things for the trip.

When he came back he was ready to go, but not looking happy.  I looked at him and asked what the problem was.  He said that his dad said that he had to pay Brandon back for using some of the shoveling money to go on the trip.  Another WTF moment.  Brandon made it absolutely clear that he went out shoveling that day so that Isaiah could go with us.  He didn't want any money, he wanted his friend to go with us.  I told Isaiah that it was not necessary for him to pay Brandon back.  He seemed ok with it and off we went.

It only takes about 40 minutes to get out to the ski park from my house.  We got there and Brandon went and got his pass (he has an unlimited pass for ski club).  I went with Isaiah to get his gear.  Once we all got ready, I decided I was going to sit in the car and have a smoke first.  The boys ran off to have some fun.  I was able to score a parking spot close to the bunny hill, where I could see Brandon showing Isaiah what to do.  He made it down the first time without falling.  I was proud.  After a few more runs, I went out and hung out with them for awhile, but at about 14 degrees with no sun to try and heat you up, I was just too cold.  I suggested we get food & warm up because I still had money left on my gift card.

Once we were done with that, I made it clear to the boys that I was done for the night.  They went back out for a little bit, then came back to the car so we could figure out what we were going to do.  I didn't care either way.  One of my friend's band was playing in the lodge in a bit so I said I'd hang out there if they wanted to stay.  Isaiah said to us, "I don't want to go because there's nothing to do at my house and this is like family time.  I'd rather stay here."  I told him that he was more than welcome to stay at our house that night and after a few minutes of going back and forth, Black Ops apparently sounded more appealing than falling on your ass, so we took off.

Arriving back at the house, we find the driver and Gavin fast asleep on the couches.  I laugh and call them lame.  The other boys proceed to rudely wake them up by turning the volume way up on the game.  I'm sure the driver wasn't pleased to wake up to gunfire.....

Saturday was a good day.  It was nice to know that I actually made a difference in someone's day, but at the same time, it pisses me off that this kid's parents don't do anything for him.  I know that since he's a foster kid, he could be adopted at any point, but I'm guessing that a 14 year old boy isn't on the top of the list to get adopted out.  I guess I'll just continue to do all I can for him and that will have to be enough.....  I just don't get who would give these people a kid???

You Guys Are Really Awesome :)

It's Sunday night and I've brought my laptop to the bar just so I can get on the internet and blog.  I just want to say that I love you guys... I really do.  Between the submissions I asked for last week and the comments on what you guys wanted to hear me talk about, I really do feel the love :)  Thank you for all of your support and most of all, thank you for all that you have shared with me in the messages.  This isn't the first time, but it's probably the most profound time, that you have all commented and messaged on two things in a week that were important to me.  I'll keep doing what I'm doing, and maybe some extra just because I love you guys.  I hope everyone has a stellar week.  I'm working on a couple of different things right now for y'all :)

Something Is Obviously Missing....

What is it people?  Not enough sordid sex stories? Not enough features on how much I really do like boobs?  Not as many drunken shenanigans?  It's something.  My stat counter says I'm down on visitors, which is weird because I have like twice as many followers now as I did last year at this time.

So YOU tell me....  What could I possibly write about to make you come back wanting more?  I'm pretty certain it's not me freezing my ass off like in the picture above :)

Have a good weekend my peeps!

I'm Going Crazy..... Well A Little More Than Usual

I don't even know how to describe how I feel right now.  Kind of like I'm in jail maybe?  I don't know.  It sucks.  Not being able to drive feels like it's the end of me and this is supposed to go on for the next year.  Ugh.  It's stupid.  I have driving privileges, but I can't use them right now because I don't have insurance.  As soon as I get insurance they'll be valid.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to work every day, I still get to go out once in awhile, whether it be to a bar or to the grocery store, but all of this is chauffeured transportation, so I feel like I have a babysitter 24/7.  I'm tired of the babysitter.  He needs to go away, but I can't do that because then I couldn't go ANYWHERE.   Ugh, seems that I'm stuck at a crossroads here and I'm not sure which way to turn.....

The chauffeur situation is annoying me beyond all belief and it's taking away from nocturnal habits that make me happy.  I mean really, I got divorced so I wouldn't have to look at the same person every day for the rest of my life.  Perhaps he was the wrong person for me to be looking at, but this one certainly isn't any better.  He's actually the on the complete other end of the spectrum as far as the ex-husband was concerned.

This one is a complete and utter pussy.  He couldn't stand up for himself if I was wielding a baseball bat at his head.  These kinds of dudes make me wanna puke.  Like I've said before, I don't want some douchebag dude around (been there, done that), but jeebus, have some balls dude....  He follows me around the house like a little lost puppy and cleans up after me.  Ugh.  Don't get me wrong, I'd really like to have a maid, but not one that after two hours at work calls to tell me he misses me and can't wait to see me after work or walks around behind me picking shit up.  Yuck.  Maybe some people think that's cute and all, but not me for sure!!

And he's really not all that smart......  I mean I need to be around someone who's intellectually stimulating once in awhile.  This one is like talking to an empty box....  He isn't capable of going rounds with me.  Ugh, I'm settling.....  Physically, I'm here.  Mentally I'm somewhere else completely.......  It's a far happier place.....

Hey Look, I'm Actually Posting AND Giving Away Shit!!

Happy New Year peeps.  We have much to talk about, but it's going to have to wait until I get a little more spare time than I've got right this minute.   I'm actually working on three different pieces right now that should be mildly entertaining to you.  Well at least that's what I hope anyway.

In the meantime to keep you all pacified since I've sucked as a blogger for the last....  well let's face it, for awhile now..... I'm going to give away free jewelry.  That's right, all your comments in December meant nothing, because I'm going to give everyone jewelry who emails me and tells me something mildly entertaining that they want to happen to them this year.  Maybe I'll send something extra special to the most entertaining.  Simple and to the point, right?  You can use the email me link on my profile or just use taranwake (at) gmail.com to send me your submission.  Pull at my stone cold heart strings for a minute.... Or tell me something ridiculously retarded....  I'm in need of an escape from reality for a bit and I know my readers can provide that....  Besides my 28 followers, I know there are approximately 100 of you who check out the blog daily... Let's hear from you!!

Make sure you send me the following information though:
Your entertaining thing you want to happen (the shorter the better)
A Name (I don't really care if it's your real one)
An Address (I don't really care if it's your home or not, God forbid I stalk you at home though even though most of you have seen me in my underwear.....)
Your favorite color
Obviously whether you're a man or woman if your name isn't obvious.....  I'll just warn you, men, your options are limited, so if you want it for a significant (or insignificant) other, let me know that too.

I want to get rid of a lot of my stuff so I can concentrate on new pieces, so if you get more than one thing, don't be a hoarder, share :)  Just kidding, hoard all you want :)

Have a great Tuesday peeps :)
