Can I Have Your Attention Please?

Will the real Slim Shady please stand up?  That's me.  I'm having a Slim Shady kind of day.  Some days I'm me, some days, not so much.  Today is one of those other days.....  I'd like to say Slim Shady comes out when I drink or you know, have other stuff going on.  Ehh, not really.  That side of me is pretty random, YES, she makes a showing when I drink, mostly because alcohol dulls all sense of inhibition.  Me likey....

Today I'm feeling just crazy enough to tell the right person about this blog so that the whole world finds out what I've been writing.  Would some be shocked about what I've written?  Yes.  My mother would have a fucking heart attack.  Would some be embarassed?  Well, yeah, probably.  Should I be embarassed about things I've written about my self?   Ehh, probably, but I'm really not.  I could tell you things that would shock you.  But why bother, when you can read about all that shit in other blogs?

In reality, I'm a person who let's very few people know what's going on in my head.  Why?  Because it's not necessary.  Letting the people in your life close to you, know your innermost thoughts is just trouble.  I have walls.  They have been built for reasons and I have no desire to let them down.  I tried that one time and it didn't work out so well.  I'm a well guarded fortress of little emotion in real life.

All of you?  Well, you get my daily activities as well as the Slim Shady side of me.  What a fucking bonus right?  Am I as crazy as I make myself sound sometimes?  Well yeah.  Am I as boring as I sounded over the weekend?  Yeah, I'm that too.

So let's talk.  Let's talk tonight about relationships.

I've been in love twice.  If the first one miraculously came back into my life, I would be complete.  If the other one would make his life right, I'd take him back in a minute.  I did that off and on for years and years only to be disappointed each time.  I've written about all that before.  I can't say I believe in soulmates, but these two boys would have been the closest I've ever came.  The first boy I lost because I moved away and even through the magic of the internet and Facebook, I can't find him.  He's probably married and has a nice house with a white picket fence and small children running around.  To think about that makes me sad because if I would have stayed where I was, that was what would have happened for me.  The second one, well, you can go into my archives and read about the reasons we're not together if you're so inclined.

Other than these two people, my relationships have pretty much been meaningless.  Even my marriage wasn't shit.  I can honestly say I'm not looking for love.  I don't want it.  What I really want right this second is a drink and a vicodin.  I only have one of those things right now and it's not the same one without the other.  Maybe because I was raised without a dad, then with a stepdad who was overbearing during my most formative years, I don't know what a real relationship is supposed to be like.  Both of my parents have been married 3 times each, so they're obviously not the pinnacle of strong relationships.  I can't say that I haven't met the right boys, I have met some really nice boys.  Some of them my mom begged me to keep seeing, the majority of them she begged me to leave alone.  GOD I would kill for a drink right now.

Oh, Oh OH, that's better.  I'd rather have a drink than gas in my car this week apparently....  The words just flow so much easier when you've had a drink or three.  Anyways, back to what I was saying....

So, yeah, relationships.  I don't really know how to have one I don't think, even the regular "friend" kind of relationships.  Average length with a guy?  6 months.  That's being optimistic.  I would say my 3 year relationship with my ex-husband probably boosted that average by 3 months or so.  I don't wanna say I'm a "grass is greener" kind of girl, but I get BORED with people.  The main reason I never wanted to get married was that I couldn't stand the thought of waking up and looking at the same person for the rest of my life.  I need variety.  It's the spice of life, right?  With girl friends, I really don't have a whole lot of them. Tara, JoJo and Nicole are about all the drama I can handle in my everyday life.  I have other friends that are girls, but they're all kept at a distance, a more "professional" level if you will.  Like Motley Crue says Chicks = Trouble.

So where does that leave you, my dear readers?  I like you guys alot.  I find you interesting.  You're something new, like a shiny toy or a just unwrapped gift.  Those of you who have blogs, I read them and am fascinated by how ordinary or extraordinary the things are that are going on in your lives, no matter how boring you may think things are.  Those of you who just comment, I'm interested in what you have to say.  All of you might just be internet friends, but you're at a level I'm comfortable with.

You're far enough away that I can tell you things without you seeing the shame in my eyes, yet close enough to reach out and give me advice, cheer me on, or fire me up :)  This I can deal with....

P.S. Don't tell me I don't have good "boy" relationships because I call them boys or because they ARE boys.  You're all boys to me.  It's not meant to be offensive or anything, but you're all 12 at heart, no matter how old or young, wealthy or poor, smart or dumb.  I really do love all of ya.

Ahhh, That Feels Much Better....

I'm not even going to tell you how long it's been since I've had a shower.  Yeah, I've been wallowing in my own filth for days now, too busy to have any me time.  I'm not gonna lie, it didn't bother me a bit, other than the face full of zits I'm probably gonna get.  Now I'm clean.  Damn it feels good.

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving.  Mine?  Well, not a whole lot to report.  I got my turkey ready around 11am remembering that I had to pull the stuff out of him. I don't think I've ever seen a raw turkey before, so I tried to convince Brandon & Gavin that they wanted to reach in there and get it out.  I had no takers on this one.  Well, let me rephrase that, Brandon said he would do it for $20.  I reached my hand in there and pulled the stuff out myself, saving $20.  Who knew a turkey neck would look like a limp penis?  I saved it and it's gonna end up on someone's windshield before the weekend is over :)  Anyhow, I put the turkey in the roaster WAAAY too early, but it pretty much ended up falling off the bones and tasted yummy so I guess it ended up ok.  Nobody got food poisoning either, so we're good.  Next time I'm just going to buy a breast because nobody will eat dark meat here.  Way more expensive, but way less hassle.

Since there was only 5 of us eating on a 15lb turkey, I have plenty of leftovers for the rest of the weekend.  I'm pretty proud of Brandon.  He's trying to be more open minded these days and he actually tried my turkey and ate some.  No, it's not a chicken patty or a cheeseburger, but he ate anyway.

It was pretty hectic late in the afternoon.  I had to take Ev to the other grandma's house so he could celebrate with them an hour before I had dinner at my house.  After some small talk, I bolted back home to finish all my stuff, almost forgetting the stuffing.  I didn't stuff the turkey being my first time and all.  Stovetop worked just fine.  The parents were a little upset Ev wasn't there, but there are some things that you have to bend on, and taking him to dinner and not having to go myself was bending that I could take.

After dinner the parents left, and Ev came home shortly after that.  His grandma told me how enjoyed table food with them at dinner.  Needless to say, I was unhappy.  The kid is only 7 months old with two teeth.  I sent jar food and he ate that, so she thought she'd let him sample everything else. Fucking great.  Testing food with him has not exactly been fun.  Since I'm allergic to milk, I've been hesitant to give him any table food, other than some peaches and peas here and there.  Well, turns out the turkey, stuffing, potatoes and pumpkin pie upset his stomach majorly.  I put him to bed and every 20 minutes all night long he would wake up screaming like someone was sawing off a leg.  Fun shit.  Oh yeah, speaking of shit, guess who got to clean up not 1 but 4 of those kind of diapers today due to all the food?  Yeah, me. FML

He's napping now and will probably sleep the whole day due to lack of sleep last night.  I know I certainly could use the rest.  Oh wait, the Satan Spawn is awake.  Damn it!

Ok, well I gotta go deal with him real quick.  I still don't have major plans for the weekend, so we'll see what happens :)  Maybe nothing, I'm sooooo tired....

A Big Pile Of Crap Post

I had a whole post almost finished yesterday about emotions and how they get in the way of life.  I deleted it this morning.  Mostly because once I went back and re-read it, it didn't sound the way I wanted it to.  When I write things that are emotionally charged, such as that post, I'll often just save it and go back and see if I really feel that way the next day.  If I still do, I'll post it or send it to the intended person, if not, then it gets deleted or saved for later.  Sometimes when I go back and read it I realize that it just didn't come out right.  That was the case yesterday.  By mistake, I've posted a couple of things that I shouldn't have, then went back the next day and deleted.  Hopefully none of you read those things.  If you did, you didn't comment on them and I thank you for that.

The truth is, I'm feeling random today.  I've got alot of mixed emotions running around in my mind right now.  I don't know if I'm happy or sad or just somewhere in the middle not feeling anything.  So, you get what you get here today and I'm sorry I couldn't come up with something better.  Friday we'll talk about holiday traditions from the question of the week.

So tomorrow is Thanksgiving, traditionally one of my favorite holidays, just because of the gluttony involved.  Here's my list of things I'm thankful for.  I'm thankful for my kids, because they keep me grounded and remind me of what's important.  I'm also thankful for the roof over my head even if it's killing me financially, most of my friends and this blog.  I say this blog because it has given me an outlet where I previously didn't have one.  I've made some new online friends that make me laugh and I am grateful for that right now.  Those of you who have blogs of your own, I'm grateful that you write things that inspire me, make me laugh and sometimes make me cry.  It just goes to show that really, we're all fucked up somehow and it's never as bad as it could be.  Nobody's perfect and now I see that even more than I ever have.

I'm cooking my first turkey tomorrow.  I'm 31 and feel like this is something I should have conquered before.  Truth is, I can't remember a Thanksgiving that wasn't spent at my grandma's house.  This will be the first.  Why?  Because every year it gets more and more drama filled there.  Me, my mom, my aunt and my grandma do all the cooking for about 30 family members, none of which bring anything, help prepare or help clean up.  Inevitably, someone is pregnant, getting a divorce, in an inter-family spat or something of this nature that makes the whole thing even more stressful.  My grandparents aren't old, I think my grandma's like 66 and my grandpa 69, but it's a financial burden to them to have to provide for all of us both at Thanksgiving and Christmas each year.  In addition, my sister, Melissa and her family can't go due to some things going on at the bar and Melinda has moved to one of the Carolinas to get ready for her man to get home from Iraq.  My stepdad has to work the day after Thanksgiving, so my mom isn't going.  It only made sense that being as I didn't really have the money to go that I didn't either.  I'm relieved in one sense and disappointed in another.  This is tradition and we're the ones breaking it.....

What else?  Oh yeah, that other tradition we have with me, my mom, my aunt and my grandma getting up at the ass crack of dawn to go out with the mobs of hillbilly idiots in rural Pennsylvania on Friday will also be broken.  Even when I don't have the money to shop, I still go and play bag girl for everyone.  Then I would go back to the house, nap and come back home to avoid making a 4 hour car ride 8 hours when everyone else is coming home later in the weekend.

Don't get me wrong, laying around all day watching football and not having a care in the world sounds like a perfect day for me.  I'll be dropping Ev off at his grandma's around 3 so he can have dinner with him, so after that will be really relaxing.  Truth be told though, I'm incapable of relaxing.  When I'm home, unless I've had a severe lack of sleep or am hungover, there are things to be done.  Ev has pretty much been sleeping through the night for the last week, so I'm actually getting some sleep.  Well, I was, until last night.  Kyle left yesterday morning and I just don't do well sleeping alone anymore.  There was a time where my California King was slept on diagonally and I was pissed when the husband started sleeping over because then I had to make room for him.  Now it just doesn't seem right unless someone is on the other side.  I'll get over it in a few days, but it still sucks.

I had something else I wanted to talk about, but right now I forget what it is..... I was looking forward to a nice boring day at work, but instead I came in to find that one of the hard drives on a manager's computer blew out somehow, so now I'm stuck formatting a new computer for her.  That requires much thinking and I'm sure I'll forget something because I'm not in the right frame of mind to be doing this crap today.  I wanted to take the day off like I usually do, but I took yesterday morning off to hang out in bed extra long and say bye to K.  Next time, I'll spare myself all the emotion that was involved in all that and come into work on time while he's still sleeping.  I swear, I don't know what it is with that boy, but I'm hooked...... for now......  He doesn't get back until Christmas Eve, but I have plenty to occupy me in the meantime.

If I don't post again today, everyone have a great Thanksgiving and I'll probably catch up on everything Friday.  Who knows, as of right now, I have no plans at all for the weekend, but I'm sure that will change....

Happy Turkey Day from me & my turkeys!

My Summary of Michigan Weekend....

All in all, it was a great fucking weekend.  Tara being a bitch and the whole bar tab thing I could have done without, but you'll have that.

What really pissed me off Saturday night was Dave.  First he was being a punk about even going, knowing it was Kyle's last weekend home.  They're supposed to be friends.  Then I get a text from him on our way home that says "I wanna c some lesbian action".  What THE fuck?  I was already mad about the bar bill and completely wasted.  Really dude?  They were all leaving the bar for the strip club, so I was like fuck off dude, go to the strip club & see that there.  Then he starts getting really mouthy, so, not one to back down from a war, I go OFF on him.  What's he do?  He texted Kyle and it said "You need to control your woman".  WHAT?  Nobody controls me.  So then Kyle's mad because he knows Dave & how he is around other guys girls.  Then Tara starts texting me cause she's with Dave.  Finally I sent out a mass text that said "FUCK ALL Y'ALL, I'M PASSING OUT".  That right there was the end of my night.  Apparently Dave thinks he's entitled to something, but he's not gettin any and is salty about it.  Whatever dude, you're SOOO not even my type....

What else?  Having the skate ramp as our personal area at the bar totally rocked.  He had some people wander over, but they were promptly bullied out by my people.  That was totally funny.

A word on hats.  I'm a big fan.  I LOVE all sorts of hats.  If I'm out somewhere and see one that's cool, I'll buy it.  That's why the boys have on hats in the pictures.  I'll take one with me wherever I go and purposely leave it lay around to see which of our friends will put it on.  It's great fun most of the time, which reminds me that I need to get them out of Kyle's truck before he leaves tomorrow.

Yeah, he's leaving tomorrow, I'm sad.  There's just something about this boy.  I don't wanna be all emotional about it, but let's just leave it at I like him and will continue to see him when he's here.  He'll be back Christmas Eve, so we'll see how all that goes.

Well, I have managed to take up my entire afternoon posting all of this, it's just about time to get out of here and go get my mouth swabbed.... 3-5 days is all the longer it takes, so I guess by the end of next week I'll either have a slap in the face or be laughing my ass off, one or the other.......

Have a great evening everyone :)

It All Boiled Down To This - Saturday

I like leading off with a picture :)  I know, I know, those cups are empty, but right after this they were full of some Cherry Bomb goodness....

Saturday morning I got to sleep in a little bit.  I needed it.  It's hard to party like a rock star at 31!  I decided that I didn't want to go to any of the football parties that my friends were having.  I hate listening to Buckeye fans and their bullshit.  Yeah, they won, woo fucking hoo.  Truth be told, they light dumpsters and couches on fire if they win or lose, so what does it matter?  I had the game on while I pissed around the house getting it cleaned up.  Guess what Ohio State?  My team beat Michigan by more points!!  Hahahahahaha.

Anyways, Gavin had a soccer game at 3:45, so I really couldn't be out partying at noon.  I was looking forward to going out with everyone that night.  We got positively slaughtered at soccer, sending Gavin into a temper tantrum of epic proportions.  He's a sore loser, he gets it from me.....

I go home, do some stuff around the house, nap for a minute and then get ready to go.  I texted Tara because she worked all day and I hadn't heard from her and, to make a long story short, she was a huge bitch and said she wasn't going.  Ok, whatever, she does this from time to time, then regrets not going.  I had about 20 other people meeting us up there, so no big deal.

I forgot to mention that Friday night, I colored my hair.  I was going for something close to my natural color, whatever that is, and picked out medium auburn brown.  Tara came down while I was doing it and laughed.  I should have known when the stuff came out of the bottle neon purple that we were going to have a problem.  Friday night it looked purple.  Saturday night it looked like this
Actually, the picture doesn't even do it justice, that's just the one that's a close up of it.  IT'S RED.  It's growing on me though.  I think if I had a tan, it'd look better.  Oh well, it's just hair, right?

Back to the story.  Tara's kid Lizzy came down with the hair straightener I had asked Tara for on Thursday and asked if she could spend the night because her mom was being a bitch.  I said sure.  Tara and I have always let our kids stay back and forth between our houses.  I straighten my hair and get all pretty and Kyle gets to the house.  Tara's guy also showed up, dropping his kid off with the rest of them at my house.  Pretty soon I get a text from Tara asking who's driving.  I told her Kyle would, because he's underage, and even though we were meeting his dad there and he could drink, he'd only have a couple.  She said cool and I told her we'd be down for her shortly.

We get to the bar where I had asked my sister to reserve us a couple of tables.  She does one better this time and reserves us her "VIP" section.  Oh hell yeah!  They just built a skate ramp in the bar.  Let's not even go into all that, which I think is slightly retarded.  On nights where there are big crowds, the ramp doubles as the VIP section.
(Me standing at the top taking pictures down into our group)

Needless to say, the top of the ramp was a most excellent place for us girls to dance, even though it's lacking the proper railings because the whole thing isn't done yet.....

(Nicole having waaay too good a time on the ramp)

(The pic I teased you with earlier, featuring Nicole's friend, Nicole, Tara, JoJo & me)

Kyle jumped up close to the wall there and made me drop my drink at one point.  Oops.....  The band kicked ass like always, check them out HERE.  Nobody does hip hop live, but these guys totally bring it.  Plus, who doesn't wanna see some HOT HOT HOT men with no shirts on?
(Hollis & Lejuan, I love you....)

Good times were had all around.  Kyle bought me a pizza because I was drunk and hadn't eaten anything all day.  I promptly scarfed it and burnt the shit out of my tongue.  It still hurts and looks all weird.....  At the end of the night, it all went bad.  I got my tab and it was $92.  WHAT THE FUCK?  I was buying mine and Tara's drinks.  Yeah, there was about $50 worth of shit on there that wasn't mine.  I was a pissed off DRUNK.  It was big drama that I don't wanna rehash here, but in the end it ended up being ok.  Tara's dude ended up leaving at some point.  I think he was mad that she was flirting with other boys.  Well she had "relations" with like 3 other guys that were there, what did he expect?  I told him that she didn't want a relationship back when he started talking to her, but obviously he didn't get my point.....  When Kyle and I got home, he was there getting his kid, who had pissed all over my couch.  Fucking great......  I ended my night getting into a drunk texting fight with Dave, but we'll save that for the next post.  Here are some additional pics of us enjoying our Saturday night VIP style :)

More to come....

Can I Get A.... - Friday

That "Can I Get A" should be followed by a FUCK YOU, just like Jay-Z says it.

I get to the bar shortly after 9 and I'm greeted by about 200 drunk people drinking buckets and buckets of beer.  The local country music station is there and everyone is having a good time.  I sit and chill for a little bit, not ready to have any part of drinking that early in the morning.

(Tara totally molested Buckeye Santa)

Tara stumbles over and proceeds to tell me that Noah was there first thing this morning drunk as hell talking shit.  What I wouldn't have given to have been there when he walked in the door.  He was all gloating that he's finally getting his paternity test to prove that Ev isn't his and blah, blah, blah.  FUCK HIM.  As a side note here, I'm going to get my mouth swabbed tonight.  Apparently his mother decided Thanksgiving dinner isn't the place for all that to go down.

Now I'm angry.  He showed up there because he knew all of my friends would be there.  I'd really like to punch him in the face.  I'm really hoping for the outside chance that Ev's not his.  Logistically there's only a slight chance he's not, but I just want him to be out of my life forever, as much as it would break his mother's heart.

Anyways, back to the story here.  I eventually find out that Tara hasn't been to bed at all.  Apparently after the episode in the river, she came home, got a little action, showered and went to pick up the rest of the girls to go to the bar.  Freaking great.....  I finally give in and have a screwdriver, breakfast of champions, and am rewarded with a raging case of heartburn.  At about 11, I convinced her we needed to go to Big Boy and get something to eat.

We walk in the restaurant and our favorite waitress is working.  The first words out of her mouth were "Damn girls, it's 11am and you smell like a freaking brewery!"  There's no doubt that many senior citizens were secretly happy we weren't their grandchildren because of Tara's actions in Big Boy that morning.  Oh well.  That's some good greasy grub right there.  T eats more food than I've seen her eat in a long time.  I'm honestly surprised she didn't puke right there.

I convince her that I need to stop at Kohls because I lost my sunglasses last week and we're right by the store.  She says ok, but she's staying in the car.  Whatever.  I get sidetracked in the store and am in there for well over a half an hour.  I'm standing in line at the checkout and I get a text explaining that I needed to get out to the car immediately or there might be damage to it due to some intestinal problems Tara is having.  Oh great...

I get back out there and she hasn't pooped her pants, so we're all good.  April texts her that we need to come back to the bar.  For whatever reason I think this idea is ok and we go back where more beers were consumed and I had my first real drink of the day.  While it tasted good and all, I'm glad I didn't have another.  I got called into work.  I leave Tara with the rest of the neighborhood drunks and am off to work.  It's a good thing we don't have a zero tolerance policy......  I'm sure I totally reeked of bar.  I get my work issue taken care of and head home for a nap.  My mom was picking up Ev to spend some time with him, so I didn't need to worry about picking him up and could nap in peace.

And nap I did.... God it felt so good.....  I wake up and Kyle is at the house asking what the plan for the night is.  I told him fire at my house.  He left and I slept some more.  I got up just before it started getting dark and ran outside to scavenge some wood from behind the garage.  I have a ton of it since we cut the tree in my backyard down, but it's mostly in huge pieces.  You have to dig around to find anything that you can burn in a small fire pit.  I got that under control, took the fire pit out front and went in to get ready for the evening.

Not a whole lot went on Friday night.  I had to take Gavin to soccer training at 8:15, where I proceeded to sit with the other parents and kick my weekend off the right way with a "road pop".  By 9:30 when I got back to my house, there were like 7 or 8 people there just sitting by the fire, drinking beer and chillin.  I refilled my drink, pulled my car into the front yard so we'd have music without the hassle of me bringing my speakers out, and plopped down.  I was exhausted.

I think Friday night we only made it till about one or so, but that was ok, because Saturday was the really important day.....

Don't Swim In The River - Thursday Night

So the party weekend kicked off on Thursday night at the local watering hole with some Buckeye bullshit.  I didn't care, I needed to drink and Tara was paying, so we went.  She picked me and Kyle up at my house and off we went.  When we got up there, the Buckeye Brass was playing all the queer music you could possibly stand.  I got stuck at the bar trying to order a round of drinks and couldn't get back up to our spot.  This resulted in me drinking my entire drink right there and then ordering another to take up to Tara and the rest of the peeps.  Kyle got a call from Dave almost immediately after we got there and had to leave.  Dave's brother was in a car accident about 30 miles from town and was in some hospital in the boonies.  Nobody knew anything else and they couldn't get a hold of Dave's mom, so he asked Kyle to go with him out there.

Preliminary reports were that the brother was ok, but the cousin that was in the car was really bad off.  Total buzz kill for a minute there.  Once they got there and found out what was really going on we all settled down a bit.  Apparently they were t-boned by another car, Dave's brother's face is all messed up and he has a broken knee or something like that.  The cousin has several places gouged out of his face, but he was released the next day, so I guess he's ok too.

T, her man and I closed down the bar.  K texted me just as I got home saying he was on his way back, so I tried to stay awake.  I didn't even hear him crawl into bed.  At about 3am, his phone rings and it's T's man.  They ran out of gas and need someone to come get them.  I can hear T yelling that she has no pants on, is soaking wet and they just need some fucking gas.  K is NOT amused, but goes out to find them.  I'm far too drunk to move out of my bed.

7:00 on Friday I get up and get the kids off to school and Ev off to daycare just like I'm going to work, but I'm not.  All of my friends went to the bar at 5am.  Once I get everyone where they're supposed to be, I crawl back in bed with Kyle for a minute until he has to leave. When he got up, he told me that Tara and her dude were at their special place down by the river and she decided she was going to jump in, clothes on and all.  Besides the fact the river is fucking disgustingly dirty, it's also freezing ass cold right now.  Drunk decisions......

She couldn't get out of the water, so her dude had to go in after her and hoist her back onto land.  They got in the truck and turned the heater on and sat there trying to warm up.  Tara decided since her clothes were wet, she'd be warmer quicker by taking them off.  Awhile later when they decided to leave, dude noticed he was about out of gas and just up the road, the truck died.....  I had two voicemails from Tara on my phone with her screaming and yelling she was naked and the cops were going to come and arrest them because she didn't have clothes on.  This made me laugh so hard when I heard it.  At 9:00 I got my ass out of bed because I was tired of my phone going off from all the drunk texts I was already getting.  So much for sleeping in.....

I Know, You're Waiting

and I promise, just by looking through my pictures it'll be worth a good laugh.  I've got some things on my mind right now that I need to get written into my special place, then I'll get this weekend's adventures posted.  I'll leave you with this as a teaser...

I've Got Nothing......

Because my mind is counting down the minutes till I get outta this place. Hmmm....only 35 left.  I'm thanking myself for suffering and not taking a lunch today so I could get the weekend on earlier.  I may try to do live posting tonight from the first of the weekend parties.  We'll see how much I have to drink before I attempt all that.  Just know that if I don't post before Monday that you're going to get pictures of a bunch of drunk people, probably dancing and doing stupid things, all in their Ohio State gear.  It will be ridiculous and I'll be the only one not in queer ass Buckeye shit.

Tomorrow my friends are all going to the bar at 4am to get their party on.  I'm sleeping in, but I'll be sure to get pictures of people that'll be drunk before 9am.

Hmm, let's see, what else....  I guess I'll leave you with a couple of pictures....
JoJo being all classy as usual...

Today Was Health Day

No Linda Lou, they wouldn't give me a DNA test to confirm you're really my mom.  But now we all know that they have do it yourself kits!

What's funnier than filling out a questionnaire that asks about the density of your skin folds?  I think NOTHING, lol!!  I mean seriously, WTF?  Do we have any doctors or nurses in the house that can explain this to me?  Luckily I have no skin folds, so we're good.

My BMI and my Body Fatness (which apparently are two different things) have lowered in the last 6 months since I started, stopped and started going to the gym.  I'd like to say that makes me happy, but if they say a median range of something, in this case we'll use BMI, is 18.5-24.9 I'm not going to be happy until I'm under that 18.5.  By the way, who measures waists anymore?  Around my belly button is not where my pants sit, so what good is it doing to measure there?  I WISH that my "waist circumference" was the size that my hips were, lol!

Anywho, they had a representation of 5 lbs of fat vs. 5 lbs of muscle.  Fucking gross.  The fat looked like a caveman club.  The muscle was nice and pretty of course.  My hope is that next health day I'll be a little better off since I'll have a full year of going to the gym and no having babies going on.

After we were done with health day, T and I went out to smoke (oxymoron anyone???) and were comparing charts.  Her waist circumference was only 2 inches bigger than mine. WTF?  I don't get that, but whatever.  Maybe it's because she's at least 3 inches shorter than me?  I mean the girl outweighs me by at least 20, maybe 30 pounds.  No clue what's up with that.  Oh well.

The two things that came out poorly on my test were my eating habits and my smoking.  Well duh.  I coulda told you that.  I eat like crap.  Eating well balanced meals is too much work for my sleep deprived ass.  I like to get my package of donuts in the morning, eat lunch, have a snack at 3 then I'm good for the rest of the night most of the time.  They didn't like that I wrote "Whatever is in the vending machine" for the question, What do you have for breakfast?  Oh well.  I go to the gym and work that 400 calories off, errr well most of it anyway.  I felt guilty about eating my donuts this morning, so i had two apples and a banana.  I'm already hungry again....  As for smoking, we all know where I stand with that.....

Look at me, 4 posts in one day?  HOT DAMN!  This is to make up for the fact I post nothing ever on the weekend :)

HAPPY HUMP DAY PEEPS!

Avril Lavigne Said It Best

with the lyrics:
Why'd you have to go and make things so complicated?
I see the way you're acting like somebody else gets me frustrated

Yeah, I like me some teeny bop music sometimes, so sue me :)  I got smacked in the face last night.  Wait, let's back up to lunch last Thursday.  If you read that random post, you'll remember that I had lunch with Noah's mom, Ev's grandma.  God that woman likes to talk about herself.  I was annoyed and then she said this:  "I really think that Noah would start paying more attention to Ev if he had a DNA test as concrete proof the boy was his."  I tried to stifle my laughter.  Noah is not interested in being a good dad.  He's leaving again for Iowa in two weeks.  This time for good.  Whatever.  I told her exactly what I told him, I'm not paying for it or taking time out of my day to do it.  She told me that she would pay for a home testing kit.  Whatever...

Back to last night, I was picking up Ev and she said "So I'm going to pick up a home testing kit this weekend.  do you think when you drop Ev off on Thanksgiving you can have Jody swab you?"  ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?  The point of ANY home testing kit is that it's retard proof.  We don't need Jody to administer it just because she's a fucking nurse and that's when she'll be there.  Seriously?  Can't we just do this like tomorrow and get it out of the way instead of me showing up at an already uncomfortable Thanksgiving dinner to have a q-tip shoved in my mouth?  I honestly didn't know what to say for a minute.  Of course I agreed, what choice do I have?

Honestly, I want the test to come back and say that he's not the dad.  There's a slight chance that this could happen and my life would be sooooo much less complicated if it did.  That doesn't change that Noah's mom is incredibly attached to the kid and it would probably break her heart, but I just need to be done with that family.

Maybe it's that I don't understand them.  I mean, Noah is adopted and severely fucked up because of it, so is his mother,  I can't relate to the things they've gone through, just the same as he can't relate to things that have happened to me.  We worked because we were two damaged people that just needed someone around.

I don't know, I guess my dream Thanksgiving that involved no huge family meal (just me & my turkey), football and chillin has just went down the toilet.  Happy Thanksgiving Tara, you ready for your DNA test?  WHAT THE FUCK??

WOW People......

So every week I look at my stat counter just to see what's going on and who's visiting me.  Like I've said before, I'm curious.  Apparently most of you like me, you're making multiple visits here.  Those who didn't, oh well.  I'm not for everyone.  Maybe they were looking for something more mentally stimulating.  Most days you're not going to find that here....

Anyways, yesterday I had my highest number of views yet!  I can't help but notice that alot of you are Hurricane Mikey followers.  That's cool, I've been a fan of his for quite some time now!  If you're new here, welcome!  Feel free to comment, because seriously, when I ask for an opinion, I really am looking for some sort of advice here.  Whether I follow your advice or not, well.....  yeah, who knows...

As I'm paging through my list here, I'm thinking about all the places I've never been.  Actually, all the places I've never even heard of!  I can't help but think small town when I hear a name like Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts; Ooltewah, Tennessee; Mount Desert, Maine and St. Francisville, Louisiana just to name a few.  Am I right?  I mean, I'm from a place called Oil City for god sakes, I know small town!

But really, I guess I'm not really a traveler.  I've been to all the states between here and Florida, between Pennsylvania and Florida (don't laugh, there's a difference coming from Ohio and Pennsylvania), Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Michigan, Indiana, New York, Illinois, Texas for two hours, and I think that's about it!  There's a whole shit ton of places I've never been!  I had the opportunity to visit Montana when I was married, but I declined because, though I know it's beautiful up there, there was camping involved and I'm not a camping type of girl.

I feel like I need to make a cross country road trip or something so that I can conquer some more states on the list.  That's not gonna happen with my kids though.  I don't even like flying anywhere with them, let alone being stuck in a car with them!!  Don't even ask me about travel outside of the U.S.  Three words there, NEVER.GONNA.HAPPEN.  I read this book and basically I'm scared shitless to even go to Mexico.  We'll talk about all that some other time.

Anyways, tell me something about where you live!  I wanna know.  Is your city or state famous or infamous for something?  It can be serious or funny, whatever, I wanna hear it!

So I Didn't Kill Him & This Is Why

So, I didn't kill the kid.  I did however, reduce him to a pile of crying mush.  Yeah, that's the loving, nurturing mother in me.  It took him 3 hours to write a paper that I didn't red line the entire thing.  He'll still be receiving a zero for the project, and a D in the class for interim.  I currently have an extra desktop computer, 25" tv, Wii console, like 30 games, a surround sound system and a  cable box.  Yeah, my kids are spoiled.  It's not my doing though.  Of those things I mentioned above the only thing I paid for, or I should say pay for, is the cable box.  That's only because I prefer everyone in the house not fight over what's on the tv.  All the other stuff came from my parents, most second hand.  You know, rich people pawning off items that have been replaced with something bigger and better.  I don't care, but it kinda sucked to rip all that stuff out of the room.  The Xbox 360 will be going into Gavin's room, instead of the living room and if Gavin sees Brandon doing anything he's not supposed to be he'll be in just as much trouble.

The grounding?  Indefinite.  I was too angry last night to set a time frame, mostly because I probably would have said forever.  I don't wanna be the parent who has the kid that spent most of their years from 13-17 unable to do anything.  I was that kid.  My mother pointed that out to me last night.  I was the kid who didn't wanna put in the effort toward anything and just thought I could get by.

Specifically, one year when the sisters and I tried out for cheerleading.  They practiced every day all day long.  They were obnoxious.  I learned the cheers, went into tryouts, and didn't make the team.  They did.  I was heartbroken.

In school, I was below average.  It wasn't that I wasn't smart.  I was.  I just didn't want to do the work.  I did the minimum I could to pass and keep my mother off of my ass.  Until I went to college and was paying $425 a credit hour, I didn't give a shit.  Once it was my money coming out of my pocket, I cared a little more.  After my first year of college, I was a Dean's List student.  I missed out on graduating with honors because of that first year.

It wasn't that I wasn't working hard during that first year, but I was struggling to manage a newborn, a one year old and a job being a single parent at 19.  I went to college on a bet with Tara.  She bet me that if I started, I wouldn't finish.  We started together and after the first year, she dropped out.  Me, being the ultra competitive person I am, wanted to quit, but didn't.  It took me 4 1/2 years to get my degree, but damn it, I got it.

Sometimes people ask me how I did it.  I don't know what to say.  For me it wasn't a matter of doing it or not.  Quitting wasn't an option in my mind.  I had started something and needed to finish it.  When I did, it was one of the most satisfying things that I've ever done.

I have reasons for pushing my kids the way I do.  I want them to be good people, productive citizens, get great jobs and have good lives.  I don't want them to turn out like their fathers.  So for now, I just keep pushing.  One day, they'll thank me for being such a bitch......

Whoever Said....

patience is a virtue..... Can suck it.  I'm going to kill Brandon when I get home.  I just got an email from his Language Arts teacher telling me that he plagiarized an entire paper straight off of a company website.  WTF is wrong with this kid?  I've been more than patient working out him getting back on his medication and leveling off, hoping he'll get back to his old self.  I'm done.  Lil Ev is about to have cable tv and a Wii in his room because when I'm done with Brandon tonight, he'll be lucky to have a mattress to sleep on......

Let's Break This Up Part 3 - Where I Am

Ha, you thought I was gonna say that I'm somewhere good.  You know, like vacation or somewhere.  Truth is, I'm lost in my own head today.  There's a ton going on right now and I'm trying to sort through it all and figure out how I'm going to get by until February when I'll get my tax return.

I refinanced the house.  Not sure if I mentioned that or not.  The assholes at the bank wouldn't do anything while I was still paying on my mortgage, so I stopped paying it.  Then they were more than happy to get my escrow back in line and roll those payments onto the end of my loan.  Not exactly what I wanted to do, but it's what makes sense right now.  Plus it lowered my payment over $150 and I don't have to make a payment until February, so I guess it all worked out in the end.

This is my last full week with Kyle.  He leaves again next Tuesday and won't be home until a couple of days before Christmas.  Currently I'm wondering what you would call our current relationship and what I'm supposed to do about Christmas.  You know, like getting him a gift.....  I think I need to get him shitfaced and have a relationship conversation.  I like him and enjoy spending time with him, because hey, having someone is better than having no one, but like I've said before, the age difference is eventually gonna be an issue.  He spends more time with Ev than his dad does, so the poor kid's probably gonna think Kyle's his dad.....  It's difficult right now.  I'm thinking maybe I need to break it off and go back to my normal ways, but who wants to be alone during the holiday season?

I don't know if I said anything about this or not and quite honestly, I'm too lazy today to go back and look, but I'm cooking my first turkey for Thanksgiving this year.  My mom informed me that they're not going to Pennsylvania this year because neither of my sisters are going and my stepdad has to work on Friday.  She told me that she know I don't have the money either, so we're all just staying home.  Uhhhh, ok.  There's always more than enough drama at Thanksgiving with 30 people and my poor grandma and grandpa footing the bill, so I'm happy to stay home and maybe get to do some "city" Black Friday shopping.  Over there, you have your basic Walmart, Sears, JcPenny and Staples.  Seriously, that's it......  So while I was getting groceries last week, I decided that I'm going to do Thanksgiving my way.

I bought a 15 lb turkey.  This is funny because only Gavin and I will eat it.  At least I don't have to fight with my sisters over who gets to take the white meat home!  There will be plenty of leftovers for me to have turkey sandwiches for a week, YAY!  It should be interesting to say the least.  I'll make sure to have Gavin take pics of the whole thing so that you can all laugh along with me because I'm sure it'll be interesting......

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, wanted to thank everyone for their well wishes about the eye.  The redness is all gone, but the spots remain.  I called the eye doctor and he said that they could take up to a month to go away.  I really wish I could get a decent pic of them because it's just weird.  Kinda looks like mold on my eyeball.  Anyways, I can put a new set of contacts in tomorrow, THANK THE LORD!!!  These glasses are killin me.

Last but not least, I gotta point out a couple of new websites on my daily rotation.

This One is freaking hilarious.  F My Life.  Some days when I look at it, I realize that I don't have it so bad.

This One makes me realize why we have so many whacked out perverts and social deviants.  NEWS FLASH PARENTS, please don't tell your kids that boys and girls are different because a girl's pee pee fell off.  I can imagine that there were bunches of boys who just waited for this to happen to them one day.  Still the site is good for a good laugh.  Especially the ones about sex and body parts.

If you have some down time and wanna laugh a little, check both of them out!

Let's Break This Up Part 2 - Other Weekend Stuff

I got up this morning feeling like crap.  There is no amount of sleep that is enough right now.  The fact that Ev is almost 7 months old and still isn't sleeping through the night sucks.  Brandon did this when he was a baby, but turned out, he had a hernia.  After they fixed that, he slept great.  Hell, that kid will still sleep 13 or 14 hours a day if you let him!  I guess my only saving grace this week is that I'm not working on Friday and not coming into work till noon on Monday.  Both days, I'll drag my ass outta bed and take Ev to daycare so that I can come home and go back to bed.

I have so much on my mind right now.  It's all just a jumbled mess because I'm so freaking sleepy!  Umm, what did I even wanna talk about here?  Oh yeah, the weekend.

Not too much to report, I took the big kids to the dance Friday night, which they informed me on Saturday that it sucked, then went down the street to Joel's house with Ev and Kyle.  It was your run of the mill sitting around a fire listening to music.  He made chili, which was probably the best I've ever had.  For looking like a scary biker dude, Joel is pretty much a culinary genius.  Anytime he has a party, I go, simply because I wanna eat whatever he made.  I both ate and drank too much and by midnight was a hot mess.  Kyle was still sick, so he'd went home to bed earlier and Ev was already in bed, so I crawled in fire stankin clothes on and all.  Not 15 minutes later Tara and her current whatever-you-wanna-call-him came storming in my back door, which is in my bedroom.  They wanted to go to the Lion's Den.  Never one to turn down a trip to play with dildos and other assorted toys, we all crawl into Kyle's big red truck, since he's the only sober one.

I never get tired of this place.  I mean, I have been pissed off with my purchases there before.  Let this be my public service announcement for the day......  Jenna Loves Justin is not good porn.  And it's really not good porn when you spend $45 on it.  End of announcement, I hope you'll all be better people for that nugget of wisdom.  Anyways, having let a sheltered life in rural Pennsylvania, I really didn't know there were so many "products" out there.  I'm just fascinated by all of it.  I mean, I'm not into alot of the shit that they sell, but I often find myself wondering how people come up with some of the product and thinking that they must have really interesting jobs......  We were too drunk to make a logical purchase, but I did find some interesting things I'll have to go back and check out further.  There was some witty banter about Tara knocking on a trucker's door who was parked in the lot and propositioning him, but she passed.  Kyle got us all home and I was done.

Morning came too early.  The big kids stayed at their friend's house, so I had to get up with Ev.  That was ok though because we had to get pictures taken.  I ran out and picked up the big kids and everyone got ready.  I'll keep this short, pictures sucked.  It took way too long and put me really behind for the day, but my kids are cute, check them out.
Have no fear, I paid for the electronic low res pics to be copyright free.
So after that I had to hurry up, go to the bank because I haven't been able to get anything out of the ATM in a week now, go home, change kids clothes and head to soccer, which we've already talked about.  By the time I got home at 3:30 I was EXHAUSTED.  I got Ev in bed and went to lay down for a minute.  5 minutes later Kyle walked in.  I snuggled up and napped until the Ohio State game got exciting.  You know, the end....  Disappointed they won, I got back up and got ready to have people over.  I was still so sleepy, but whatever, it was Saturday night, I had no babysitter and Kyle was going to a party.  I was having people over whether I wanted to or not.

I got the projector and everything setup outside and a fire going.  Finally I got Ev to bed.  He had only slept about 20 minutes earlier when I put him down.  Gavin had gotten him up and played with him while I napped.  God I love that kid.  Slowly some people started to show up.  I had no idea the fights had started at 8, so I turned them on halfway into them.  Like I said before, disappointing.  Some fights are like that though.  Oh well.

After the fights were done, Kyle came back from what I'm guessing was a lame party and we all started channel surfing looking for something else since it was only 11.  T happened across Reality Bites and we watched it and laughed, because back in the day, this movie was sooooo cool.  Not so much now.  Kyle was too young to understand any of what we were laughing at, which made us laugh even harder.  When it was over, we all called it a night.  Ev slept for 12 hours straight..........

So of course by 7am, he was up and ready to go!  Yet again, the big kids weren't home, so I popped him into his swing in front of cartoons (yeah, go ahead, judge me) and fell back asleep on the couch.  Later on Kyle conned me outta breakfast, so I made french toast, eggs and bacon.  MMMMM.  yum.

I cooked the bacon in the oven.  When I have time, I always do this.  It comes out SOOOOOO much better this way!  Way more evenly cooked and I never even considered doing it until one of my friends did it a long time ago.  Plus, working at a restaurant supply company, I have the BIG ASS cookie sheets so I can cook the whole pound at once.

Later in the day I went to a Scentsy party at JoJo's house.  Any of you who haven't heard of it before, they make the most AWESOME burners and wax to make your whole house smell good.  I think I sniffed over 80 different scents, ultimately choosing 3.  It was hard to choose, they all smelled so good!  JoJo's sister is going to be a consultant, so I can hear my wallet getting emptier as we speak.  I know it's a girl thing to be talking about, but I think even guys wanna live somewhere that smells nice :)  even if it is just for the ladies you bring home, lol!

I watched my Steelers lose, then went home and decided I REALLY wanted pork chops, so I made dinner.  Damn, I just cooked two meals in one day.  WTF?  I'm a little happy Kyle is leaving next week just for the simple fact I can stop cooking all the time and worrying that I'm gaining weight!  I don't know what gets into me.  My kids won't eat anything, so when someone else is around, I feel like I need to be a domestic goddess and cook all the time.  Plus, we all know that the quickest way to a boy's heart is through his stomach!  Well I'm sure it's through something else as well, but we won't go there right now......

Happy Monday :)

Let's Break This Up Part 1 - Sports

Peyton Manning, I had faith in you, I really did.  That Bill Belichick thought he was such a badass and you showed him, fuck up and the Colts will take you down.

I can't say that I finished watching the game last night.  I did watch the most important parts on the internet this morning though.  After making an awesome dinner or pork chops & mashed potatoes, at 9 I finally got to settle in for the evening and watch some football.  My beloved Steelers had already disappointed me, so I was hoping to salvage this week's football picks with the night game.  I can say I wasn't impressed with anything that happened early on in the game.  Kyle got back to the house at half time and I snuggled into my favorite spot in the bed.  I caught maybe 3 minutes of the 3rd quarter.  When I woke up during the 4th quarter, there was only like 5 minutes left and the Colts were still down pretty significantly.  Oh well, I would lose the pool this week.  No big deal right then, I was comfy and fell back asleep, stupid glasses on and all.  Needless to say, when I looked at the scores this morning, I was a happy girl.  Starting a Monday with an extra $50 in the wallet makes me happy.  I'm sure all the boys that participate in my football pool are being haters right now.  Out of 10 weeks of ball, a guy has only won one week.  We're not talking rocket science here boys.  It's 30 games college/pro and you pick the winner.  No over/under, none of that.  Just pick your winner....  I RULE.....

This is an important week in Columbus (cue HUGE EYE ROLL).  It's Michigan week, and even though Michigan has a for shit team this year, it's a big deal that everyone act like an Ohio State douchebag all week.  Why do I like Michigan week?  Well, besides when Michigan wins (I REALLY like that) it's a PARRRRRTY week.  Yeah, you have to deal with more Hang on Sloopy than you'd ever wanna hear, but it's an awesome time.  I'll be attending parties on Thursday night, Friday all day and Saturday, which all should be a great time.  In addition, our favorite local band LDNL is playing up at my sister's bar on Saturday night AND Forrest Griffin is fighting Tito on Saturday night.  TWO of my favorite things in one night????? Fucking awesome.  I like both Tito and Forrest, so I'm hoping for a good fight, though I don't know how much training Tito's getting in being a family man and all these days.

Speaking some more of UFC, did anyone see the Couture/Vera fight Saturday night?  What a bunch of shit.  Yeah, Randy Couture was good back in the day, but he shoulda stayed retired.  Now he's in the middle of this 5 (?) fight contract and is sucking.  There WAS NO WAY IN HELL that he should have won that fight on Saturday night, especially by unanimous decision.  Brandon Vera beat him plain & simple and had that been a Pay-Per-View fight I would have been pissed I paid for that shit.  That's all I'm gonna say about that.

Lastly, in family sports news, Brandon played with Gavin's indoor soccer team this weekend.  Since Gavin's team is playing up an age group to get more competition, Brandon was eligible and we had a couple of kids out, so we needed him.  Brandon played soccer for about 5 years when he was younger, so he had the basic skills, he just isn't nearly as good as these kids.  He had an awesome game, even scoring a goal!!  Gavin had like 5 shots on goal, all of which were just off their mark, but had a bunch of sweet assists for goal.  We ended up winning like 14-1.  The last 15 minutes of the 2nd half were spent playing keep away from the other team, which is boring, but lets the kids work on skills and tricks in a practical atmosphere.  I was a proud mama leaving the complex on Saturday.  I know most people don't have any respect for soccer because this is a football nation, but when my kid is making millions playing in Europe when he's older, I'll smile and nod my head at all the haters.....

Most people just don't understand the sport.  That's ok.  My ex-husband used to say that soccer was for pussies and that he never wanted his kid playing.  Watching recreational level kids play is boring, I'll give you that.  But that's what we do as parents, support our kids in whatever they want to do.  Gavin has played year round since he was 4.  He moved up to a competitive team 3 years ago.  Once I learned the rules of the game and how, once you get out of the rec league, physical the game is, I have grown to accept the sport.  We go see our local professional team regularly, mostly because it's cheap.  I can't afford to take my kids to Cleveland or Cincy to go to football and baseball games, but we can go to a Crew game and have a great time for like $50.  Plus, when we go, Gavin's face lights up and he tells me how someday that's gonna be him.

Innocent children full of dreams and aspirations, no matter what they are, make us step back for a minute and remember what we wanted to be when we grew up.  What do you wanna be?

Mystery Solved.....

So I Web Md my eye issue last night and it said to get to the doctor immediately.  FUCK!  Ok, then.  I call my family doctor this morning and they're not touching anything to do with white spots on the eye.  I call my eye doctor and am instructed to get down there immediately.  FUCK!  Ok, I go.

I get there and see a doctor I've never been to before.  He was super serious.  Apparently I have an infection in my eye that has caused ulcers on my cornea.  WTF??  Apparently if left untreated they can cause blindness, and we all know that I'm far too vain to be blind.  Which reminds me of a story......

I worked at Wendy's from age 16 until I had B shortly after my 18th birthday.  Actually, I worked all day the day that I was in labor with him.  But that's another relatively funny story for later.  In this story I am putting chicken breasts into the deep fryer, ignoring all safety materials around me.  Nobody used them, why would I?  The handle that attaches to the basket in the pressure cooker comes off so that you can seal the cooker once you have dropped the chicken down inside.  I got the basket over the cooker and the handle came off shooting 400 degree grease up into my face during lunch rush.  More specifically it went into my eye.  Of course I flipped out but first aid was administered and I ended up going to the emergency room.

All said and done I was more worried about if I'd have a scar on my face than the fact that I could have been blinded by that hot grease.  I could be blind, but damn it, I didn't wanna be ugly!!  I didn't go to school for a week because they put a patch on my eye and I had burns on my face.  I didn't want anyone to see me like that....  Once it got a little better I was able to return to both work and school and after about a month, there was no trace of the burns.  Thank someone above for that!

Anyways, my sentence for this whole thing is no contacts until at LEAST Monday, which is absolutely killing me.  I can't see for shit outta my glasses.  Plus I have to do antibiotic eye drops every two hours for the entire weekend, fun shit.

Since the big kids have plans all weekend, it'll just be me and Lil E.  Meaning, no super fun stuff for me.  I'm going down the street a few houses for chili and a bonfire tonight, kids are getting Christmas pics taken tomorrow, we have a soccer game, then who knows what.....

Have a great weekend everyone!

Some Thursday Randomness

Jumbled up thoughts, all spewed onto the page for your viewing pleasure....

  • Did you look at my gross eye picture?  Yuck.  Anyways, you wanna know the other weird thing about my eyes that I've noticed lately?  They're changing color.  My husband used to say they were muddy river brown.  Asshole.  Just saying brown woulda been fine.  Now they're green with a weird ring around the outside of them.  See children?  Drugs are bad....  Lol, I heard that certain types of drugs could do that to you.  Who would have thought it was gonna be 15 years later??  Seriously though, just over the last 6 months or so they've really started to change.  Weird shit.  Even Kyle said they were brown until Gavin pointed out that they're not anymore.  I guess that just proves how infrequently he looks into my eyes... :)
  • I was always the odd one out having brown eyes.  Yeah, the milk man's kid.  I know it's genetically impossible for a person with blue eyes to mate with a green eyed person and have a brown eyed baby.  My mother still insists to this day that my dad is really my dad.  Let's just say I have my doubts and I will only be attending the asshole's funeral (supposing Satan ever dies) to procure a DNA sample.
  • Speaking of DNA.  Noah is back on my shit about getting a test for E done.  I'm still saying go ahead if you're gonna pay for it cause I sure as hell am not!  Loser.  I have to go have lunch with his mother here in a little bit.  That shall be pleasant and fake as fuck, but hey, I'm not about to turn down a free lunch at Ruby Tuesday.  Yeah, I'm getting the expensive cheeseburger today!
  • Cheeseburgers.....MMMMMMM....  To me, there is nothing better in this world than a good cheeseburger.  I really mean that.
  • Mean, yeah, I am.  My friend Nicole posted on her Facebook yesterday that she was contemplating putting up her Christmas tree.  I asked her if she was a fucking idiot or really that bored.  Yeah, mean.  I put my tree up the week before Christmas and have it taken back down two days after.  I hate how it clutters my living room.  If I didn't have kids, I would never put up a tree.
  • Speaking of trees, are you guys real or fake tree people?  Personally, because I'm allergic to everything, including trees, I have to have a fake one.  That's quite alright with me.  They're easier to deal with.  The husband was always pissed he couldn't have a real tree.  One of the many points in our relationship where I wondered why the hell I married him.  Big fucking baby.
  • Kyle is a big baby too.  Apparently I whacked him in the elbow with a pool stick last Saturday night really hard.  He's still crying about it.  Pussy.
  • Ha, I said pussy.  So much better than the "C" word.  Man I hate that word.  I only use it when there is no other way to describe someone.  We're heading to the local "Adult" Superstore for shits & giggles tonight.  That should be interesting.  I mean, T and I go there pretty frequently to giggle at the newest products and make some interesting purchases, but Kyle wants to go.  The last time a boy bought a toy for the bedroom it ended in me divorcing him in favor of the toy........
That's enough for now.  Tomorrow I'll let you know about my grand weekend plans.......

QOW: What The Hell??

Ok, so last week I told you maybe my questions would be a little silly once in awhile.  My rules.  My question this week?

What the hell is up with this?

First of all, my iPhone camera leaves alot to be desired here.  2nd of all, it's way worse than that.  I have two white spots over the colored part of my eye, the whole white part is bloodshot, and my upper and lower eyelids are swollen.  It looks like someone poked me with a sharp stick.  This has progressively gotten worse over the last 3 or so days.  This morning I finally had to ditch the contacts and revert to wearing my 4 year old glasses.  K says I look like a nerd.  I really do.  Especially without makeup on because I'm afraid if it's an infection all my makeup will need to be replaced.

So what do we think, pink eye?  A scratched cornea?  I have no clue, but I really don't have the $$ right now to visit a doctor.  I think I'll just wear my glasses for a couple of days and see what happens.....

Pretty freaking creepy isn't it?

I'M A ROCKSTAR!!

Let me rephrase that, I AM A FUCKING ROCKSTAR TODAY!!

I've made it pretty clear that I don't love my job.  Well, I used to, back when I had a whole company of fucked up computers and a network that crashed if you looked at the server crosseyed.  My days were filled with challenging decisions and endless questions about how everything worked.  We didn't always have this fabulous technology environment.  I built it.  It took me 3 years and a lot of company money to get everything the way I wanted it here.  Don't get me wrong, we're not state of the art by ANY means, but I have something here that I'm proud of.  Plus, I have job security.  They can't get rid of me and expect that anyone could come in here and make sense of what I have done.  Hell, I couldn't even take 6 weeks off when I had E without someone calling, emailing or texting me everyday.  It's nice to be needed.

Here's the problem though.  Once all the big projects were done, I got bored.  Once they started cutting staff, I resumed some of the jobs I did when I was in purchasing, as well as filing and all sorts of other $8 an hour jobs.  Don't get me wrong, if you wanna pay me 20something dollars an hour to file, I'm ok with that.  The problem is, that's all mindless boring work, which I hate.  I need a nagging phone or computer issue, pushing me to get it done, not filing that can be done whenever I feel like it.  Not purchase orders that take 5 seconds to create.  When I started working here, I came straight out of the service industry.  It killed me to have to sit at a desk all day.  11 years later I still feel the same way.  I hate to be stuck behind my desk.  I like to be crawling under desks or locked in my server room working on a project.  Not much of that going on these days.  Money's short and everyone's so worried about losing their job, they don't take the time to look at virus infected porn all day anymore.  BORING.......

Until today, that is.  The president of the company and my mother, who is the head of one of the sales groups here were working on a huge project for a new customer.  It was online ordering for them done through our buying group.  The customer's logo would not show up on the page no matter what anyone did.  Between our web guy and the buying group girl, they were telling prez and mom to do a bunch of stupid shit and that it was their computers causing the issue.  This has been going on for a month now.  I wasn't involved in any of the process, so I didn't worry too much about any of it.

This morning my mom came up to me with her sad puppy dog face on.  This did not amuse me, particularly since she's been such a bitch to me lately.  All she said was, when you have a minute can you come look at this logo.  I said ok, not knowing which logo she was talking about.  I frequently have to go to her desk and do dumb formatting shit for her.  I get over there and see that it's the website and the one picture is just a red x.  Fuck.....  I'm a hardware and software computer chick, not a programmer...For a reason.  I can't stand that in designing one website, having the slightest thing be off, such as missing a space, can ruin the whole thing.  I don't have the patience for that shit.

Anyways, skip through me looking at this thing for damn near two hours, then it dawns on me.  I can open it up on my phone with the logo, but not the computer.  The prez can open it up on his computer.  Here it is, A FLASH OF FUCKING BRILLANCE the logo somehow isn't compatible with Internet Explorer.  iPhone uses Safari, the prez goes through AOL's browser on his computer.  I know the web guy uses FireFox.  Who knows what the buying group girl uses (probably FireFox).  They could all see the logo fine.  I open up Safari on my computer and the page loads correctly.  I test to make sure I'm right by downloading FireFox and it works.  Sweet.  We call the buying group girl, because I'm not going to assume the customers use something other than IE and she is quickly able to isolate the problem and fix it.

I AM A HERO TODAY.  My mom's whole department is congratulating me.  The prez called to congratulate me for figuring it out.  The new customer needed his online ordering up today and now we will be able to deliver a product that we're proud of that looks good.

This is the kind of situation I feed on.  Pressure and unfamiliar territory.  I was about to give up before the flash of brilliance, but I didn't.  It bothered me so freaking mych that I couldn't figure it out that I had to solve the problem.

Unfortunately now it's back to making purchase orders and filing, but I'm reminded how much I really do love my job, even in these boring times....

You Big Meanie!!

So I don't think I talked about this last week.  Gavin and I were on our way home from his first indoor game and was almost in tears.  For those of you who don't know alot about soccer, which is most of the country I'm sure, soccer can be a very physical sport.  Indoor soccer even more so because there are walls you can potentially get checked into.  Gavin often walks around with bruises all over him.  I'm honestly surprised Child Protective Services hasn't paid us a visit.

Gavin had a pretty physical game, so when I saw him tearing up, I asked him what was wrong, expecting to get a "nothing" from him.  Nothing's ever wrong with Gavin.  He's tough and rarely complains about anything.  I expected him to tell me that when he got checked into the Plexiglas it had hurt him.  What I got from was "my ribs hurt, this big fat kid at school hits me all the time".  Let's say his description of the boy who was hurting him was a little more explicit than what I just wrote.  I don't wanna offend anyone with the racist slur that came outta my kid's mouth, and normally I wouldn't tolerate him saying something like that, but since he was angry with the situation, I let it go right then and we talked about it the next day.

Apparently this boy sits next to Gavin in Art and Choir class and constantly hits him in the arm and ribs.  I asked how long it had been going on and Gavin said since the beginning of the school year.  WHAT???  When we got home, I had a look at the damage.  There were bruises all up his arm and all over his side.  I was PISSED to say the least.  I made Gavin write his name down on a piece of paper so I could remember it when I called the school the next day.

Let me side-note here for a minute.  Both my kids have pretty severe ADHD, which I'm sure I've mentioned before.  They both took Adderall for about 5-6 years, which pretty much stunted their growth, but kept their symptoms pretty well in check.  This past March (I think it was) they both asked to go off of their medication.  After talking with their doctor, we decided to let them do it, with the understanding that they would go back on the meds if they started to have problems.

For those of you who don't know about Adderall, it's used as a weight loss drug in obese people, because for the normal person, it's basically speed.  For those with ADD and ADHD, it slows them down, but still keeps them from being very interested in eating.  After going off their meds, the boys have grown about 2 inches and gained around 15 pounds.  They're finally NOT the smallest kid in their grade.  Still though, they're "late bloomers", easy targets for bullies.

As I walked out the door the next morning, I assured Gavin that everything was going to be ok and I would take care of the problem.  As soon as I got to work, I called the school and left a message for the guidance counselor informing her of the situation.  She didn't call me back until about an hour later.  By then I was pissed because it had taken so long.  Turns out she was taking care of the situation before she called me.

When she called back she explained that she had called the assistant principal and the boy into her office.  Apparently the boys is "a little slow".  She went on to assure me that wasn't an excuse and the boy was not so retarded that he didn't know right from wrong.  He was read the anti-bullying section of the student handbook and suspended for 3 days.

Then she called Gavin down to her office to speak with him.  I guess they had a good talk and Gavin will be getting moved away from the boy in the two classes he has with him.  That makes me feel better.  She also went on to say that the boy's other teachers have been informed of the situation because Gavin probably isn't the only one that was suffering.  Also, if he retaliates in any way, I'm to call the school immediately or Gavin is to go down to the office and report it and the kid will be expelled.

I have to say, I'm impressed with their no tolerance policy.  Gavin came home a happier kid and even though I wanna beat the ever lovin shit outta this kid for laying a hand on mine, I guess justice was served.

Friday I got a call from the school nurse.  Gavin's science teacher sent him to the nurses office because his eye was swollen shut.  She called me so that I could talk to him and make sure it wasn't some sort of retaliation by the boy that was kicked out of school.  Gavin maintained it wasn't, there were just too many people trying to get into their lockers after lunch.  He put it like this "Mom, I'm surprised it hasn't happened more than this, elbows are flying all over the place out there".  I had to chuckle.  He didn't end up with a black eye, but it was swollen all weekend......
