Quickie...

Yeah, well I wish it was that kind of quickie, lol. The boy is out of town for 6 more days. I CAN'T WAIT for him to come back! I think I may have a little crush or something..... Oh no, that's not good!!!

Anyways, the sister is doing better, now instead of her face being totally swollen on that side, it looks like her eyeball is bleeding and most of the blood from under the skin is seeping down her neck and making it look like she took an even worse beating. She came to my house last night because she was bored and didn't want to go out anywhere in public because she looks like a victim of some serious domestic violence. I thought the baby would be scared, but he didn't care because she held him and that's all that matters to him.

Today is my Friday. Little guy has a dr. appointment tomorrow so I can see just how much of a porker he is. Lol, I'm gonna say at a little over 4 months, he weighs probably 20 lbs. He's a beast!

The big kids are enjoying being back at school. My middle one was amazed at how the "clicks" at lunch, as he put it, "you know mom, the goths, the weirdos, the jocks, you know!!!" are the same at his school as they are on tv.... I wanted to tell him that this is how the rest of his life would be and to make the decision to sit at the right table, but he quickly interjected with "I think I'm gonna sit at a different table every day." That made me laugh. My kids really are well rounded enough to pull this off. Both Brandon and Gavin float in and out of social groups like little ghosts. Exactly the way I was way back in the day.

No big plans this weekend. Soccer tournament and Gavin's birthday.. Woo hoo! I mean, I'm sure there'll be drinking in the hood and all, but the real party is gonna be next Saturday night at my end of the summer party. There's gonna be some non-regulars there, including an ex or two, so it should be interesting. I just hope it's warm enough for the adult slip n slide :)

If I don't have time to get anything up tomorrow, have a great weekend!!

What A Weekend.... Not A Good TIme

So, there weren't really any big plans this past weekend. Gavin had his first soccer game of the season and we were supposed to go to a cookout with Ev's grandparents. WOW, that's some exciting shit!! Things however, did not end up that way.

I don't work on Fridays right now due to cutbacks at work. This totally works for me because I get up, take Ev to daycare and then pretty much sleep for the rest of the day. Friday I slept till noon. Got up, pissed around on the internet for awhile then took the bigger kids to lunch and school shopping. We'll just say that the whole trip sucked. I must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed because I was a bitch and they were so annoying that, in the middle of the Walmart aisle in front of about 20 horrified mothers I said "Just get the stupid shit you think we need so we can get the fuck out of this place." Mother of the year, I'm not.

I went home and took a nap, even after I'd only been awake for like 3 hours. This time, when I got out of bed, I got out on the right side. Friday night was kinda boring, we chilled in the hood down at April's house.

Saturday we went to Gavin's soccer game. He totally rocked it. He's really gunning to make team captain this year and I think he'll get it. The weather was miserable, raining and maybe 65 degrees, but we ended up winning 4-1. That was a nice win to start the season. After that, I took E and we met up with all the girls at a Tastefully Simple/Lia Sophia party. It was fun to hang out, but I didn't have any money, so I just booked a party for October so that I can get all the jewelry I wanted for free. The plan was to meet up at my house for a fire and drinks after the party.

I hurried up, ran to the liquor store and went home and made a fire. I LOVE GASOLINE. It's the perfect fire starter. I did manage to catch the driveway on fire too, but whatever, it happens. Everyone started trickling in and before long there were probably 15 of us just sitting around sippin on drinks, listening to music and enjoying the fire. Tara brought her new man crush down who just happened to be one of our friends back in the good old days. She had a thing for him back then, but the timing just wasn't right. At probably 1am somebody decided we needed to make a run to the bar for a round of shots for a girl who was turning 21's birthday. We did, and what a train wreck, lol. Good thing you can walk to this particular bar from my house, lol. Once we got back home, there was dancing on the stripper pole by the girls and even one boy. This is a brief intermission during the dancing of me and my girls Courtney and Lindsay. It was Lindsay's 21st birthday.

We then decided it would be a good chance to get Duane back for bumper stickering my car a couple of weeks ago. While we were out there, we hit Dave's truck too.  Tara and I got them good.

No, don't say it, I'm not anti-gay or anything like that. Maybe I meant that Dave is a homosapien or he's homogenized... Whatever, it was funny. What was even funnier was that yesterday I saw him driving around town and he hadn't seen it was on there. At about 2pm I got a text that said, Bitch, u got me. Yes Dave, I did. Duane on the other hand, I haven't talked to him, but I'm sure he likes dongs and drove around like this....And yes, Tara looks queer with her eyes closed and that big cheesy smile. 6 beers tends to do that to her.

Anywho, at about 3am we all decided to call it a night. My friend Jeremy and I went inside to hang out because it was freezing. We were just sitting around listening to music when my iPhone started ringing through the speakers. I'm a firm believer in the fact you never want your phone to ring in the middle of the night, unless it's a booty call and mine don't come as late as 3am lol.

When I looked at the caller id, I immediately sobered up. Everyone at my house had walked home, so I knew all was well with them, but the phone number was one that belonged to a local hospital. When I answered, because the iPhone was hooked up to the speakers, it was way loud and it was my sister, Melinda. The one that keeps having unfortunate accidents because she really does have issues. She was damn near sobbing telling me she fell off her bike and broke her face. I asked her who was with her and she said friends and that she couldn't get ahold of anyone else. She didn't want me to come down there because the kids were sleeping, but I made arrangements and headed to the hospital. This is what I found when I walked into the room

The only words to describe this are WTF?? I was pretty certain that she was drunk again and this time my mom was gonna put her in rehab. Turns out, she wasn't drunk, she had gotten lost on her bike, no not a motorcycle, a bicycle, in a pretty industrial area and heard something that scared her and took off on the bike, nailing a curb in the process. She flew off the bike and face planted into the pavement. Damn.... Luckily nothing's broken, but she's gonna be hurtin for awhile. Besides the face, she's got one whole leg worth of road rash.

I stayed with her until I was finally able to get someone up there to relieve me at 8:00am. I still hadn't gotten through to my other sister and my mom was in NYC for the weekend. When I got home all I wanted to do was sleep, but the baby woke up. So much for that. My mother then called sobbing because apparently my sister had forgotten she was out of town and had called and left her a voicemail in the middle of the night. I got her calmed down, hung up and my other sister called. I told her what was going on and she said she'd take over from here. THANK GOD. I really don't have what it takes to deal with this type of situation.

I was supposed to drive about an hour away for a cookout at noon with all 3 kids. I just couldn't do it. I had been up for about 28 hours and I'm a girl that needs my sleep. I called E's grandma and explained the situation. She came and got all the kids and I got peace and quiet. I wish that I could tell you I slept the day away, but I didn't. I got a little nap, but that was it. The kids were home around 4 and I had stuff to do.

I didn't get to talk to Kyle all that much this weekend. Saturday night he was in a bad mood and last night I was dead tired by the time he was done with his shift, but I'm hoping we get to video chat 2nite. Only 7 more days till he comes back home, YAY!!!!
Happy Monday!!

Facebook Is Ruining My Life

Ok, well maybe not ruining it, but it is making it really weird here lately.... I fought for a long time against the norm of having a MySpace or Facebook. Honestly, I wasn't all that interested in finding people from my past or having them find me.

Last year after the big 30th birthday bash, I finally gave in and setup a MySpace page. All my bitches had posted their pics there and refused to let me see them unless I got a page. So I did. I'll be honest, I like it. I am super selective of who I let be my "friend", mostly because that's where I post the worst of the worst party pictures and write some all out flames about people I hate.  I would have put up with a lot less crap over the last year had it not been for MySpace.

Facebook on the other hand, is the devil. There are so many people on there and I'm a little more than intrigued to see what has happened to them. I don't have a ton of "friends" on there, but I have enough and there are some strange ones. Plus my mom now has a page and guilted me into being her friend, so I can't post anything really good there.

A couple of posts ago when I was writing about my relationship with Nick I got to thinking about what led he and I to be together. I knew my version of the way things happened and honestly have felt guilty for a long time about it, but I knew there was more to the story. A guy, Brad, is my "friend" on Facebook. I friend requested Brad about a month ago to see if he'd actually accept my request. He did and we occasionally message back and forth, mostly because we're both addicted to Mafia Wars.

Another friend and I were messaging about things we would tell people if there would be no negative recourse from doing so. Let me tell you what, this is kinda fun. Being slightly intoxicated I decided to open the floor to anyone who had something to say to me. Who had something to say? Brad did. His message simply stated this "I didn't like going from driving my girl's car to sittin bitch in the back seat".

See, Brad and I had been seeing each other back in the day. Things were weird with us though. I can't really go into detail because it's weird (no, not in a sexual way....), but he and I had just had this thing. He and I had the same close circle of friends, which made things even more interesting. Looking for a quick way to end it, I hooked up with his right hand man, who just happened to be Nick. Or so I thought. Long story short, the truth comes out. Brad set me up. He made sure Nick and I got together because I was too nice of a girl to be with him. . Really? Is that how it is? Because let me just say this. I have NEVER been a nice girl, especially back then. I was a user and an abuser. Hell, I still am kinda. But anyways, he was right, his position of driver eventually went to bitch in the back seat to him not hanging out with us at all. I've seen him probably twice since all that went down.

Anyways, the whole thing just made me step back for a minute and think about things. Brad, in one night, changed the rest of my life. I'm pondering two questions from all this:
1. Did I really want to know the truth?
2. What sort of things have I done that have changed the rest of someone's life?

The answer to #1 is pretty easy. I could have lived the rest of my life not knowing the truth about all that. N and I have been through so much shit, I don't even want to think about how different my life would have been without him. #2, well, I can think of a ton of stuff I've done. I seriously hope I didn't fuck up anyone's life too bad. If I did, I'm sure I'll hear about it on Facebook someday......

Pick Me Up

Ok, so that last post, sorry, it was depressing, but something I needed to share for whatever reason......
This weekend was busy!! Gavin had 4 soccer games on Saturday morning, as a jump start to his season. Damn, it was hot!! We lost 3 and tied one. Not too bad for a team that's never played together!
I had planned on taking the boys up to my sister's bar in the evening. No, I'm not THAT bad of a parent, lol. They were having an outdoor music festival to benefit a wonderful charity, Pets Without Parents. There was a local band playing that I knew Gavin would love. That kid knows more music than most adults. We're not just talking about current stuff either. I've received several compliments on how well musically rounded this kid is.

So anyways, he was stoked about going until that day. He changed his mind and both of them decided to stay home so they could play with their friends. Whatever. My friend Nicole picked me up and we headed off..... Well sort of. I was charging my camera battery, because we don't go anywhere without the cameras and I lost it somewhere in the house. After about 20 minutes of looking for it, I just decided I'd buy a new one, we were already running late.

We finally get there an hour after we're supposed to be there and meet up with some friends and head out back to hear the band I was there to see....Well, a half an hour of them anyway since we were so late. After that, we wondered around for a little bit then headed back inside. I wanted to get a table for the band that was coming on later. More people showed up and before you know it, we had this going on
Yep, when we party, we do it up right. What you see here is a shot called Free Candy. Besides bubblegum vodka, I have no idea what was in it, but it rocked.

The band came on and I knew from their reputation they'd be good, but I was really impressed. They covered everything from White Zombie to Jay-Z and everything in between. Another round of shots later and I was doing fine :)

Can I just say this....I looked HOT on Saturday night. Do you know what I'm talking about? One of those nights where you get ready and look in the mirror and say DAMN GIRL! That's how I felt Saturday night (plus this new bra I bought gives me amazing cleavage, as evidenced below). It was a really good time. I wish Tara would have went, but she was being a sour puss and stayed home. I'm not sure what went on when I got home except for I woke up yesterday morning in my clothes with Nicole sleeping in my bed too. I guess it must not have gotten too crazy seeing as there were no boys in bed with us, lol!

Here is me and my nice cleavage with my sister Melissa. Pardon the fact I'm sweaty as fuck, it was like a hundred degrees in that place with all those people! Apparently I decided she was my friend again Saturday night. I blocked out her face to protect the bitchy, lol

Should I Have Stuck It Out? Part 1

I just realized that 7 years ago at this time, I was in the middle of one of the most turbulent times of my life. No wonder I've been a little off lately. This one single event changed the rest of my life. Was it for better or worse? I don't know anymore. Part of me hates myself for not sticking it out, part of me is relieved that I got to do something else with my life, so I'm just really unsure....Here's the story. I'll warn you though, it's depressing.....

My relationship with Nick, which started in high school, wasn't exactly what you would call normal. We met through a friend. I won't even get into that because it's a another story that probably doesn't need repeated and a lifestyle in which I don't even wanna get into these days. We have been together off and on since I was 16. He is the father of Brandon and even though he's not Gavin's dad, he has always treated that child like his own, even offering to sign his birth certificate so Gavin wouldn't eventually find out that his dad was a piece of shit and wanted nothing to do with him. Nick has loved me through some of my worst times. I know that if I called him today and told him I missed him and wanted him to come back home, he would drop whatever he was doing and come back.

Sounds nice doesn't it? The down side to having this person who loved me sooooo much was that he was lazy. I'm not talking about laying around watching football on the weekends or having worked so hard all day that he comes home and naps in the evening. I'm talking about a person who watched me slave day in and day out at two jobs, only to come home and find that he and the kids had wrecked the house and I needed to put it back together.....at midnight. He was home with the boys all day, so immediately when I got home, he would leave and go out with his friends or whatever it was he did back then. Ok, I say that like I don't know where he was or what he was doing. He was getting high. He is a person who believed the elaborate pot growing operation in our garage would mean that he didn't have to work again. I could go on and on with his money scams, which usually did not produce any income into our household, not that I wanted to get money that way, but at that point, I would have taken any help. I tried to help him get jobs, which he would work for a little while, but then he wouldn't be satisfied and he'd quit or get fired. Honestly, I think I tried as hard as I could in that relationship.

This last time we were together, about 7 years ago, we were really trying to make a go of things and settle down to be a family. We moved out of our duplex, me and the kids in with my parents, him with friends, so that I could payoff some debt and we were going to buy a house. We could get into a house and it would be cheaper monthly than renting. I thought at the time, us buying a house together would push him into growing up a little.

Everything went well for about 6 months. I was chugging along working and paying bills, he was doing whatever it is that he does when I'm not around. On that fateful day, we went to his parents house for a cookout to celebrate Brandon's birthday and the fact that we had found a house that we could afford and were going to move forward on it. After hanging out all day, I went back to my parents house, glad we had a good day. On the way home, I lost my cell phone, but I was so worn out, I just figured that I would look for it in the morning.

When I went out to the car in the morning to look for my phone, I found that the seat had swallowed it. When I looked at it, I saw that I had 30 missed calls and 5 voicemails. Weird..... When I looked at the missed calls and saw that they were from him, his mom and stepdad, I knew something bad had happened. The first voicemail was him, telling me he was out for the evening with his friends and that he loved me and wished I was there. The next 4 were from his parents telling me that there had been an accident and I needed to come to the hospital immediately. I went in the house and threw up, then tried to convey to my mom that we needed to go through the hospital while hyperventilating. My mom, who has NEVER been a fan of him made arrangements for a neighbor to watch the kids and took me to the hospital.

Just a sidenote our immediate metro area has 6 hospitals. I knew it was bad when I was told he was at Grant, which is our metro area's top hospital for trauma.

As soon as I walked in the door to the hospital I saw his mom and stepdad. I was hugged by them both, which was just weird because I've never seen them hug their own son or their grandchild, let alone me. We sat in the waiting room for a long time. Nobody was allowed to see him until they could stabilize him. I finally had to leave because I needed to get back to the kids. I was told to come back later that night and they would keep me posted on any developments.

Let me just say, I'm a pretty unemotional person. Maybe my mom wasn't as loving as she should have been when I was a child or something. I don't know. I just don't let my feelings show. I went and picked up the kids and tried to put on my best happy face I could for two little boys that loved their dad, no matter how big of a fuck up he was.

Later that night, I got word that he was out of surgery, but it was bad. I could come up to the hospital if I thought I could handle it. I went up that night with Tara. I don't know what I thought I was going to see, but when I saw him, I refused to believe it was him at all. The person laying in that bed weighed what appeared to be 400lbs. He looked like he would explode if you touched him. I was told that he was in a drug induced coma because he has massive internal injuries.

Nobody knew what had really happened. All they knew was that he has been in a car crash out in the country and the two other people who had been in the car had ran off and left him there. Luckily the crash happened near a house and it woke the owner up, who called 911 when he went outside and saw the wreckage. Because he has no drivers license and everyone else fled the scene, they couldn't contact anyone for quite some time. They had to take fingerprints in hope that he was in the system so he could be identified and they could call someone down to the hospital to be with him. Luckily, being a hoodlum, he was in the police database. Eventually the police found the owner of the car, who had let one of her daughters friends drive the car. They tracked down the girl and found out that they had been at a bar with several other people. Nick wanted to leave at one point, but didn't have a ride, so this girl and a mutual friend of ours were going to take him home. What they were doing clear out in the country none of us still know. This girl, who was not only drunk, but underage thought it would be funny to turn off the headlights and drive. She hit a ditch, then a phone pole at about 50 miles an hour without even trying to stop. Her and the boy in the front fled the scene because they were uninjured "forgetting" Nick was sleeping in the backseat. He had crawled into the back seat, put on his seatbelt and fallen asleep on the little joyride. When the ambulance came, he had to be cut out of the car and was unconscious.

His internal injuries were numerous. His lung had collapsed and his liver had basically exploded because of the amount of pressure on it from the seatbelt. He had head injuries, cuts, bruises the works. I had never seen anything so horrific as when I was shown that they had split him from the bottom of his ribcage to his pubic bone and had what amounted to a corset on, holding his insides in, just in case they needed to get back in there again. Which they did several times.

I went down every night when I got off work for a couple of weeks. I'd talk to him because I had heard or read somewhere that they can hear you. I took down pictures of the kids, so the first thing he saw when he woke up was them, but he wasn't getting any better. After the first couple of weeks, I just couldn't go down anymore. Between working two jobs, trying to take care of the kids and finalizing everything with the new house, I just didn't have time. I'd make it down a couple times on the weekend, but that was all I could do.

Eventually, being in the drug induced coma, between the surgeries and his body giving it everything it had, he started getting better. After about 6 weeks, they brought him out of the coma. I knew exactly what was going to happen and didn't think I could deal with it, so I wasn't there. As expected, the flipped out and started tearing at the tubes and machines that were hooked up to him. They had to heavily sedate him so that he didn't undo any of the repairs that had been made to him. His mother called to say that the pictures of the boys were the first thing he saw and in the midst of freaking out, he grabbed at them and cried. A couple of days later he was moved into the general population of the hospital, well enough to be around other people. I went and we talked quite a bit, but something was off. He wanted me to bring the kids down to see him because, let me just say this, though he was not any type of breadwinner in our family, he was ALWAYS a wonderful father. I couldn't let the boys see him like that. They were only 6 and not even 5 and I knew that it would kill them to see their dad that way. Another couple of weeks later, he was released from the hospital. Being as he didn't have insurance, they were quick to kick him out once he was reasonably well.

The boys and I had moved into our new house while Nick was in the hospital. I thank God every day for my friends and even my family during this difficult time. We had been in for almost a month when he came home to live with us and this is where it all fell apart. It was obvious that he shouldn't have been let out of the hospital. His incision in his belly had to be packed every day while it healed and no matter how many pain pills he took he still hurt. He couldn't find comfort in anything, which also meant he never slept. A man who's kids were once the center of his world yelled and screamed at them until they wouldn't come out of their rooms because they were scared of him. They weren't the only ones. I got yelled and screamed at any time I was home because I wasn't accommodating enough. This was clearly not the man that I had loved for so many years. That man would never raise his voice to me and certainly never to the children.

I put up with this for about 3 weeks, hoping every day that he would get better and we would be happy. Things just kept getting worse. The day I made him leave, he had raised his hand to hit Brandon, something that I would have thought I would never see out of him. I called his mother, who lives close and told her I was done. That she needed to come and get him because I couldn't do it anymore. She came and got him. That was the last time I saw her.

I've only seen Nick probably 5 times since that day. Two of those times were in the last year or so when we've been in court because he apparently would rather go to jail then pay me any child support. The other couple of times were in random passing because we live in the same town. There is no doubt in my mind that he still trolls the hood, seeing what me and the boys are up to, but he keeps his distance, which suits me fine.

For years I had to listen to the kids recount all the times they did things with him and went places with him. I had to deal with Gavin telling his entire 2nd grade class that his dad was in jail because he was a bad man and Brandon drawing pictures of his dad in a coffin, but eventually they just stopped asking about him. Now that they are older, we have had conversations about him and why they don't see him. It's gotten a little easier for all of us to just live our lives with out the complications that he would present. I have a wonderful network of male friends and family members who are always a huge help when one of them needs to go camping or fishing or any of those other things that I'm not good at.

What I'm honestly wondering today is.....What would have happened if I would have stuck it out?

Fractured....

So, I have two ribs fractured twice each. Two in the front and two under my arm pit. Apparently the way I hit the ground was just weird enough to do that. The doctor looked at me with a look of this poor battered woman and asked me if there was anything I wanted to talk about. Well dude, no, there isn't. I got drunk, was acting like an idiot and got hurt. It's not the first time. Lol, normally I don't even have to be drunk to hurt myself. Hell, I spent 9 months in a cast because I can't walk and eat nachos at the same time! I'm sure as shit not a battered woman! Apparently the solution for fractured ribs is Vicodin. There's nothing else they can do. That's what I've been taking anyway, but now I have an arsenal of it. In about 3 weeks I will be whole again. Bummer I can't go to the gym because I can't really do anything. Oh well.....

So anyways, I get a call this morning from Tara. She wasn't at work this morning because her sister is very sick and probably dying. I had asked her to call me when she heard anything new about her sister's status. We talked about that for quite awhile and all of the sudden she asks me if I'm outside. Well, no, I'm not, but let me go take a smoke break. I go out and am having a smoke in front of work and she says "Look at your car". FUUUCCCKKKKKK. They got me last night! I let my guard down slightly because Kyle is back on his boat and I didn't figure he'd be clever enough to orchestrate a hit from there.. I have underestimated him. Apparently Tara got a text message first thing this morning showing this:

Yeeeahhhh....The soccer mom gets had, courtesy of my next door neighbor, Duane. Apparently him and Kyle planned this before Kyle left. Well, little do they know, I have a whole arsenal of vinyl lettering and Duane's car is about to say something along the lines of "Honk If You Like Dongs" across the front bumper here soon. At least I was courteous and bought one solid magnet. This shit is 23 individual letters that I WILL HAVE to remove before I take my kid to practice tonight. Somebody's definitely gettin it!

That's it for now, I will update with more pics as I continue to torment the hood.
