A million dollars..... Too bad I don't have a million dollars..... I took Ev to daycare this morning, watched him smile brightly for the camera even though I know he's just as worn out as I am, then I left him and went back home to bed. I had told the big kids not to lock the door when they left for school because I didn't take my key with me and sure as shit, they locked it. Damn. Luckily I was able to crawl through the bedroom window. That was a nice way to start the morning.... I crawled right in that window, peeled off my boots and hit the bed hard. I had made sure my phone was on silent, so the bill collectors wouldn't bother my peaceful slumber.
I had set my alarm to wake me up at 11:00 because I had to be into work at 1 and had some banking I had to do this fine payday Friday. Yeah, I snoozed through it and woke up at 11:30. Needless to say, the extra stuff I needed to get done didn't get done.... Well, visiting one bank got done and I arrived at work with 4 minutes to spare.
Do you guys have any Raising Cane's in your area? Damn, those are some fucking awesome chicken fingers. I had to stop on the way in because I was craving them. A dollar a piece isn't cheap, but they're well worth it, and the people who work there are always so fucking nice! I love some good service. It's hard to come by and I wish you could tip the people at the drive-thru for providing good service. Don't comment me about how it's their job and blah, blah, fucking blah. Having spent years bartending and serving, I know there's a difference between doing your job and doing a fucking awesome job. Some people have it and some don't. Personally, I like to reward the ones that do a fucking awesome job and find it refreshing that people could be excited (or at least act) to do a job that pays them $2.14 an hour, or in the case of the drive-thru attendant, probably minimum wage.
Anyways, sorry to stray off topic there..... As of right now, I only have tentative plans for the weekend. Gavin's got training tonight till 9:15 (yeah, what we won't do for our kids, right?), so I'm not gonna get my weekend started until later, but our favorite band is right down the street and there's no cover, so I'll probably go get him, make a road pop and head on over. Catch a buzz in the parking lot, then head in. We'll see. Tara's pretty on the fence about going as of right now. As for Saturday and Sunday? I'm not sure. I think I'm supposed to go to a craft show with my mom Saturday morning, then Gavin has a soccer game of course, but after that it's pretty much wide open. We'll have to see what happens......

I Got Nothin.....
I'm working on filling you all in on my plans for Operation You're Spending The Holidays In Jail, but I need to get through a couple of things first. It should be interesting to say the least....
I don't have anything to say today really. I've made my rounds through everyone's new posts this morning and you have made me hungry for chicken salad, want to cut my hair and get "gay ass" bangs and think a little more about trusting my instincts. Hmmm, that's a pretty random list right there.... This is why I love you guys.... So many different takes on sooooooo many different topics. Good shit right there!
Anyways, I'm working through lunch today because I have to leave early, for soccer of course, so it's gonna be a long 8 hours. Well, I've already got an hour and a half down. Perhaps I should go play Mafia Wars for a little bit. Maybe I'll do some real work around lunchtime for shits & giggles.
I haven't slept more than 2 hours at a time in 5 nights now. It's really wearing on me. Tomorrow, I'm taking Ev to daycare, then heading back home to bed for the morning. I've just got to get some sleep.... First it was me that couldn't sleep, insomnia, I think over the whole DNA test thing, which I haven't heard the results on yet. Then the last two nights, E has basically screamed like someone was sawing his leg off all night long. Upon closer examination, he's getting more teeth. The weird thing? They're not the two front teeth on the top, like should be coming in, they're the pointy ones that look like vampire teeth. I swear, he's the weirdest kid ever. Almost 8 months old, only has two teeth, refuses to roll over or crawl and incessantly says DaDa (which by the way pisses me off!!). He can roll over, he just doesn't like being on his belly at all. It makes him angry, I think because he's too fat to roll back over.... So yeah, if he won't hang out on his belly, he won't ever crawl. I did walk into daycare the other day to find him standing at the activity table beating the shit out of it.....Whatever..... My mom pointed out that Gavin never crawled either. Honestly, I don't remember that, I was 19 and really not paying attention to all that kind of stuff. But, he was a fat kid too, so maybe that has something to do with it....
That's about it. If something strikes me, I'll be back later to share.....

I've Got Full Moon Fever
It's not just the name of a Tom Petty album. It really exists. Those of us who are a little imbalanced in the first place really get messed up in the days leading to a full moon. Really, I'm serious. Combine that with a little PMS and you've got a raging psycho on your hands. That's my problem....
I don't have a whole lot to say today. I wrote a letter to my dad and his wife last night. I'm giving it a couple of days to make sure that's all I really wanted to say and I'm sending it. They don't have a computer, so yes, I have to actually mail it. Maybe I'll let you guys read it tomorrow. It's pretty emotionally charged, but last night after I posted on here, I felt like I needed to write it. They've been dicking around with me and lying, so I felt like I needed to clear the air. Now they'll know exactly how I feel. Anyways, on to less depressing shit. I feel like I've been a real downer lately and I'm sorry for that. As soon as I get back to my old self, you'll be the first to know :)
On a happier note, I don't think I mentioned this last week. I run a football pool each week. Being the HUGE football fan that I am, I took this responsibility over from a guy that used to work with us. It's turned into a work/friends/family pool each week. It's cheap, $3 a week and the winner gets around $45 if they win depending on how many people play. At the end of the season, the top three people take home additional money. It's simple, I don't require an over/under, just 30 games, college & pro. It's all the pro games for the week then the 15 or so college games with the lowest point spread. You pick the winner. The person with the highest number of wins gets the money each week. Easy right?
I've ran the pool for 8 years now. People come and go, that's ok. My game, my rules. My mother is traditionally number 1. She's strangely good at it, considering that neither her or I ever even watched football until we moved here. I won 2 weeks in a row earlier in the season. It's always nice to have extra $$ in your pocket.
Gavin has been a huge football fan since he was around 5. He's my all around sports kid. He's got my fuck you personality and isn't afraid to do his share of smack talking about his teams. He tends to pick out specific college players and follow them into their professional careers rooting for them all the way. Once they turn to shit, he'll start following someone else, but still have an interest in that player. If he decides he hates a player, it's the funniest thing ever. For some reason, he had it out for Peyton Manning for a couple of years. Every time he would be on tv, either playing or in a commercial, Gavin would profess his hatred for him. He's not a kid that doesn't know what he's talking about either. He'd be like "stupid Peyton Manning, he sucks butt, did you know that he threw three interceptions last game? How the heck does someone as crappy as that get his own commercials?"
At one point, about two years ago, he had over 25 college and pro jerseys in his closet. He wore them every day. He still does, the ones that still fit him anyway. I let Gavin start playing the football pool the year Roethlisburger was a rookie for Pittsburgh. He killed everyone all season long, but I wasn't letting him play for the money because he was a little kid. We had a deal that if he won the season, I'd buy him an authentic Roethlisburger jersey. Needless to say, I had to buy the jersey. He spent week in and week out studying teams and players and really did well.
Gavin's always played since then. He's had good years, he's had mediocre years. He's never done poorly though. This year, I started paying for him to play, not a big deal, it's $3 a week. He's pretty decent this season. He doesn't research like he used to. Every Friday after school I call him and read him the picks over the phone. He chooses them and we go down the list. What would have been two weeks ago now, I called him and he did his picks over the phone as usual. He didn't really want to do them, but he did them anyways after I told him he'd be pissed if he didn't do them, like the week before when he took his drop week.
I gather everyone's picks at the end of the week and then send out a combined sheet so that everyone knows what everyone else picked. I normally don't look at them until Sunday night when I start tallying everyone's scores. When I did on that Sunday night, I was blown away. Gavin didn't do average. He picked EVERY college game correctly. In my 8 years of doing this pool, I've never seen anyone pick ALL the college or pro games correctly, let alone a 12 year old. He ended up with 26 out of 30 games correct. That's the highest score anyone's ever gotten.
I finished scoring everyone's sheets and called him back to my room. He thought he was in trouble, because my room is usually where we talk about things they've done wrong. I asked him how well he thought he did and he had no clue. When I told him that he didn't miss any of the college games, he was unimpressed for a minute. Then I think the reality sunk in. He realized that because of the perfect college games, he won the week. Suddenly, there was a gleam in his eye. He won the money. To a 12 year old, money is AWESOME, no matter how much it is. We settled on the fact that since I payed for him to play every week, he would get $20 of the $45. Needless to say, he was a happy kid.
On Monday, I sent out a message to all the participants. We had all been beat by a 12 year old. Everyone laughed with the exception of my mother. She asked who really won. I told her he did, I paid for him to play every week, so the money was technically his. She didn't like that. I shouldn't be letting a kid gamble. You know what? Whatever, just because you didn't win this week doesn't mean you need to be salty because the kid did. Later on that week when my step-dad saw him, he congratulated the kid. That's exactly what Gavin needed. He's a kid that fronts that he doesn't give a shit what you think, but is always looking for acceptance.......Just like his mother........
Agree with it or don't. Like I said, my game, my rules......

Can I Have Your Attention Please?
Will the real Slim Shady please stand up? That's me. I'm having a Slim Shady kind of day. Some days I'm me, some days, not so much. Today is one of those other days..... I'd like to say Slim Shady comes out when I drink or you know, have other stuff going on. Ehh, not really. That side of me is pretty random, YES, she makes a showing when I drink, mostly because alcohol dulls all sense of inhibition. Me likey....
Today I'm feeling just crazy enough to tell the right person about this blog so that the whole world finds out what I've been writing. Would some be shocked about what I've written? Yes. My mother would have a fucking heart attack. Would some be embarassed? Well, yeah, probably. Should I be embarassed about things I've written about my self? Ehh, probably, but I'm really not. I could tell you things that would shock you. But why bother, when you can read about all that shit in other blogs?
In reality, I'm a person who let's very few people know what's going on in my head. Why? Because it's not necessary. Letting the people in your life close to you, know your innermost thoughts is just trouble. I have walls. They have been built for reasons and I have no desire to let them down. I tried that one time and it didn't work out so well. I'm a well guarded fortress of little emotion in real life.
All of you? Well, you get my daily activities as well as the Slim Shady side of me. What a fucking bonus right? Am I as crazy as I make myself sound sometimes? Well yeah. Am I as boring as I sounded over the weekend? Yeah, I'm that too.
So let's talk. Let's talk tonight about relationships.
I've been in love twice. If the first one miraculously came back into my life, I would be complete. If the other one would make his life right, I'd take him back in a minute. I did that off and on for years and years only to be disappointed each time. I've written about all that before. I can't say I believe in soulmates, but these two boys would have been the closest I've ever came. The first boy I lost because I moved away and even through the magic of the internet and Facebook, I can't find him. He's probably married and has a nice house with a white picket fence and small children running around. To think about that makes me sad because if I would have stayed where I was, that was what would have happened for me. The second one, well, you can go into my archives and read about the reasons we're not together if you're so inclined.
Other than these two people, my relationships have pretty much been meaningless. Even my marriage wasn't shit. I can honestly say I'm not looking for love. I don't want it. What I really want right this second is a drink and a vicodin. I only have one of those things right now and it's not the same one without the other. Maybe because I was raised without a dad, then with a stepdad who was overbearing during my most formative years, I don't know what a real relationship is supposed to be like. Both of my parents have been married 3 times each, so they're obviously not the pinnacle of strong relationships. I can't say that I haven't met the right boys, I have met some really nice boys. Some of them my mom begged me to keep seeing, the majority of them she begged me to leave alone. GOD I would kill for a drink right now.
Oh, Oh OH, that's better. I'd rather have a drink than gas in my car this week apparently.... The words just flow so much easier when you've had a drink or three. Anyways, back to what I was saying....
So, yeah, relationships. I don't really know how to have one I don't think, even the regular "friend" kind of relationships. Average length with a guy? 6 months. That's being optimistic. I would say my 3 year relationship with my ex-husband probably boosted that average by 3 months or so. I don't wanna say I'm a "grass is greener" kind of girl, but I get BORED with people. The main reason I never wanted to get married was that I couldn't stand the thought of waking up and looking at the same person for the rest of my life. I need variety. It's the spice of life, right? With girl friends, I really don't have a whole lot of them. Tara, JoJo and Nicole are about all the drama I can handle in my everyday life. I have other friends that are girls, but they're all kept at a distance, a more "professional" level if you will. Like Motley Crue says Chicks = Trouble.
So where does that leave you, my dear readers? I like you guys alot. I find you interesting. You're something new, like a shiny toy or a just unwrapped gift. Those of you who have blogs, I read them and am fascinated by how ordinary or extraordinary the things are that are going on in your lives, no matter how boring you may think things are. Those of you who just comment, I'm interested in what you have to say. All of you might just be internet friends, but you're at a level I'm comfortable with.
You're far enough away that I can tell you things without you seeing the shame in my eyes, yet close enough to reach out and give me advice, cheer me on, or fire me up :) This I can deal with....
P.S. Don't tell me I don't have good "boy" relationships because I call them boys or because they ARE boys. You're all boys to me. It's not meant to be offensive or anything, but you're all 12 at heart, no matter how old or young, wealthy or poor, smart or dumb. I really do love all of ya.

Ahhh, That Feels Much Better....
I'm not even going to tell you how long it's been since I've had a shower. Yeah, I've been wallowing in my own filth for days now, too busy to have any me time. I'm not gonna lie, it didn't bother me a bit, other than the face full of zits I'm probably gonna get. Now I'm clean. Damn it feels good.
I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. Mine? Well, not a whole lot to report. I got my turkey ready around 11am remembering that I had to pull the stuff out of him. I don't think I've ever seen a raw turkey before, so I tried to convince Brandon & Gavin that they wanted to reach in there and get it out. I had no takers on this one. Well, let me rephrase that, Brandon said he would do it for $20. I reached my hand in there and pulled the stuff out myself, saving $20. Who knew a turkey neck would look like a limp penis? I saved it and it's gonna end up on someone's windshield before the weekend is over :) Anyhow, I put the turkey in the roaster WAAAY too early, but it pretty much ended up falling off the bones and tasted yummy so I guess it ended up ok. Nobody got food poisoning either, so we're good. Next time I'm just going to buy a breast because nobody will eat dark meat here. Way more expensive, but way less hassle.
Since there was only 5 of us eating on a 15lb turkey, I have plenty of leftovers for the rest of the weekend. I'm pretty proud of Brandon. He's trying to be more open minded these days and he actually tried my turkey and ate some. No, it's not a chicken patty or a cheeseburger, but he ate anyway.
It was pretty hectic late in the afternoon. I had to take Ev to the other grandma's house so he could celebrate with them an hour before I had dinner at my house. After some small talk, I bolted back home to finish all my stuff, almost forgetting the stuffing. I didn't stuff the turkey being my first time and all. Stovetop worked just fine. The parents were a little upset Ev wasn't there, but there are some things that you have to bend on, and taking him to dinner and not having to go myself was bending that I could take.
After dinner the parents left, and Ev came home shortly after that. His grandma told me how enjoyed table food with them at dinner. Needless to say, I was unhappy. The kid is only 7 months old with two teeth. I sent jar food and he ate that, so she thought she'd let him sample everything else. Fucking great. Testing food with him has not exactly been fun. Since I'm allergic to milk, I've been hesitant to give him any table food, other than some peaches and peas here and there. Well, turns out the turkey, stuffing, potatoes and pumpkin pie upset his stomach majorly. I put him to bed and every 20 minutes all night long he would wake up screaming like someone was sawing off a leg. Fun shit. Oh yeah, speaking of shit, guess who got to clean up not 1 but 4 of those kind of diapers today due to all the food? Yeah, me. FML
He's napping now and will probably sleep the whole day due to lack of sleep last night. I know I certainly could use the rest. Oh wait, the Satan Spawn is awake. Damn it!
Ok, well I gotta go deal with him real quick. I still don't have major plans for the weekend, so we'll see what happens :) Maybe nothing, I'm sooooo tired....

A Big Pile Of Crap Post
I had a whole post almost finished yesterday about emotions and how they get in the way of life. I deleted it this morning. Mostly because once I went back and re-read it, it didn't sound the way I wanted it to. When I write things that are emotionally charged, such as that post, I'll often just save it and go back and see if I really feel that way the next day. If I still do, I'll post it or send it to the intended person, if not, then it gets deleted or saved for later. Sometimes when I go back and read it I realize that it just didn't come out right. That was the case yesterday. By mistake, I've posted a couple of things that I shouldn't have, then went back the next day and deleted. Hopefully none of you read those things. If you did, you didn't comment on them and I thank you for that.
The truth is, I'm feeling random today. I've got alot of mixed emotions running around in my mind right now. I don't know if I'm happy or sad or just somewhere in the middle not feeling anything. So, you get what you get here today and I'm sorry I couldn't come up with something better. Friday we'll talk about holiday traditions from the question of the week.
So tomorrow is Thanksgiving, traditionally one of my favorite holidays, just because of the gluttony involved. Here's my list of things I'm thankful for. I'm thankful for my kids, because they keep me grounded and remind me of what's important. I'm also thankful for the roof over my head even if it's killing me financially, most of my friends and this blog. I say this blog because it has given me an outlet where I previously didn't have one. I've made some new online friends that make me laugh and I am grateful for that right now. Those of you who have blogs of your own, I'm grateful that you write things that inspire me, make me laugh and sometimes make me cry. It just goes to show that really, we're all fucked up somehow and it's never as bad as it could be. Nobody's perfect and now I see that even more than I ever have.
I'm cooking my first turkey tomorrow. I'm 31 and feel like this is something I should have conquered before. Truth is, I can't remember a Thanksgiving that wasn't spent at my grandma's house. This will be the first. Why? Because every year it gets more and more drama filled there. Me, my mom, my aunt and my grandma do all the cooking for about 30 family members, none of which bring anything, help prepare or help clean up. Inevitably, someone is pregnant, getting a divorce, in an inter-family spat or something of this nature that makes the whole thing even more stressful. My grandparents aren't old, I think my grandma's like 66 and my grandpa 69, but it's a financial burden to them to have to provide for all of us both at Thanksgiving and Christmas each year. In addition, my sister, Melissa and her family can't go due to some things going on at the bar and Melinda has moved to one of the Carolinas to get ready for her man to get home from Iraq. My stepdad has to work the day after Thanksgiving, so my mom isn't going. It only made sense that being as I didn't really have the money to go that I didn't either. I'm relieved in one sense and disappointed in another. This is tradition and we're the ones breaking it.....
What else? Oh yeah, that other tradition we have with me, my mom, my aunt and my grandma getting up at the ass crack of dawn to go out with the mobs of hillbilly idiots in rural Pennsylvania on Friday will also be broken. Even when I don't have the money to shop, I still go and play bag girl for everyone. Then I would go back to the house, nap and come back home to avoid making a 4 hour car ride 8 hours when everyone else is coming home later in the weekend.
Don't get me wrong, laying around all day watching football and not having a care in the world sounds like a perfect day for me. I'll be dropping Ev off at his grandma's around 3 so he can have dinner with him, so after that will be really relaxing. Truth be told though, I'm incapable of relaxing. When I'm home, unless I've had a severe lack of sleep or am hungover, there are things to be done. Ev has pretty much been sleeping through the night for the last week, so I'm actually getting some sleep. Well, I was, until last night. Kyle left yesterday morning and I just don't do well sleeping alone anymore. There was a time where my California King was slept on diagonally and I was pissed when the husband started sleeping over because then I had to make room for him. Now it just doesn't seem right unless someone is on the other side. I'll get over it in a few days, but it still sucks.
I had something else I wanted to talk about, but right now I forget what it is..... I was looking forward to a nice boring day at work, but instead I came in to find that one of the hard drives on a manager's computer blew out somehow, so now I'm stuck formatting a new computer for her. That requires much thinking and I'm sure I'll forget something because I'm not in the right frame of mind to be doing this crap today. I wanted to take the day off like I usually do, but I took yesterday morning off to hang out in bed extra long and say bye to K. Next time, I'll spare myself all the emotion that was involved in all that and come into work on time while he's still sleeping. I swear, I don't know what it is with that boy, but I'm hooked...... for now...... He doesn't get back until Christmas Eve, but I have plenty to occupy me in the meantime.
If I don't post again today, everyone have a great Thanksgiving and I'll probably catch up on everything Friday. Who knows, as of right now, I have no plans at all for the weekend, but I'm sure that will change....

My Summary of Michigan Weekend....
All in all, it was a great fucking weekend. Tara being a bitch and the whole bar tab thing I could have done without, but you'll have that.
What really pissed me off Saturday night was Dave. First he was being a punk about even going, knowing it was Kyle's last weekend home. They're supposed to be friends. Then I get a text from him on our way home that says "I wanna c some lesbian action". What THE fuck? I was already mad about the bar bill and completely wasted. Really dude? They were all leaving the bar for the strip club, so I was like fuck off dude, go to the strip club & see that there. Then he starts getting really mouthy, so, not one to back down from a war, I go OFF on him. What's he do? He texted Kyle and it said "You need to control your woman". WHAT? Nobody controls me. So then Kyle's mad because he knows Dave & how he is around other guys girls. Then Tara starts texting me cause she's with Dave. Finally I sent out a mass text that said "FUCK ALL Y'ALL, I'M PASSING OUT". That right there was the end of my night. Apparently Dave thinks he's entitled to something, but he's not gettin any and is salty about it. Whatever dude, you're SOOO not even my type....
What else? Having the skate ramp as our personal area at the bar totally rocked. He had some people wander over, but they were promptly bullied out by my people. That was totally funny.
A word on hats. I'm a big fan. I LOVE all sorts of hats. If I'm out somewhere and see one that's cool, I'll buy it. That's why the boys have on hats in the pictures. I'll take one with me wherever I go and purposely leave it lay around to see which of our friends will put it on. It's great fun most of the time, which reminds me that I need to get them out of Kyle's truck before he leaves tomorrow.
Yeah, he's leaving tomorrow, I'm sad. There's just something about this boy. I don't wanna be all emotional about it, but let's just leave it at I like him and will continue to see him when he's here. He'll be back Christmas Eve, so we'll see how all that goes.
Well, I have managed to take up my entire afternoon posting all of this, it's just about time to get out of here and go get my mouth swabbed.... 3-5 days is all the longer it takes, so I guess by the end of next week I'll either have a slap in the face or be laughing my ass off, one or the other.......
Have a great evening everyone :)
