So what a fucking weird evening I had.... I went to pick up little Ev at daycare, being kind enough to hold open the door for the person behind me without really looking at him. He thanked me then said, Tara? I whipped around quicker than you could say "hi" because this is the second time in a week that I've had this happen.
Flash back to last week, when I was walking out of the gas station and a nice boy held open the door for me. Not having any caffeine that early in the morning, i kept my head down and thanked him. He said, Tara?
My hair has changed a hundred times in the last 10 years. Facially, body type, not too much. Even with three babies, I manage to get back to my regular self.
Last week it was Chuck, a boy that I worked with eons ago at my current job. He was cute back then and totally had a crush on me. I was engaged at the time, so our timing didn't really work out and when he left, none of us ever heard from him again. He commented that he thought he had seen me at the gym a couple of months ago, but then when he looked again I was gone. I confirmed that I did go to that gym and the last time I had been there was a couple of months ago (due to the cracked ribs and being sick of course, not because I'm lazy....). We made about another minute of small talk and I said that I'd probably see him around the gym and was on my way.
Today it was Daniel..... Back in the day Daniel was the annoying little brother of Nick's best friend Travis. For those of you not wanting to look over at the side panel or previous posts, Nick, if you'll remember is Brandon's dad. He owes me $50k in back child support and even on a good day I'd like to kill him with my bare hands...
Years ago, I practically lived with these people. Nick always lived with them because his mother disowned him when he was in like 8th grade. The house was a party place for all the kids without parents who cared. We can skip talking about the fun stuff for now. Yeah, before I got pregnant and things went south, there were a lot of fun times. Daniel was always the annoying younger brother, probably 4 or 5 years younger than us. Their mom worked all the time, so I'll just leave it up to your imagination all the things that went on in that place.
Travis, Daniel and the rest of their family moved to Vegas after a windfall of money. When Nick got in his accident, they were already gone. When they left, I had pretty much already left that life behind. When I turned around today and realized that it was him, I felt my jaw drop. He was all grown up! I had heard that they were back in town, but hadn't seen any of the family. This was perfectly ok with me. I try my hardest to avoid people from my previous life.
I think he was as surprised to see me as I was him. We stood in the entry way and he told me all about what had been going on with him and that he's finally getting his life together. Good for him. He didn't quite understand why I was at the daycare and I told him that I had a little one. It didn't click in his head apparently. He was on his way back to pickup his ex's son and when he saw me pick up Ev, said WOW, I thought you meant Gavin. Uhh dude, Gavin is 12, it's been a super long time since I've seen you. We chatted for a minute longer and I was itching to get outta there.
As soon as I left, I called Tara and told her about it. She was as freaked out as I was, seeing as she's pretty much been through it all with me. I can assure you that as soon as he left the place, he called his brother. Now I gotta worry about Nick showing up somewhere I may be. Not that he'll cause problems, because he knows I can put him in jail if I even see him, but that doesn't mean he won't hide out and watch me, like he's done for years....
So here it is again, my former life creeping back up on me, making me wonder if I've made the right decisions.....
Hey, It's Okay

You can't help who you run into. I hope N stays away and minds his own business.
@Mejis - I know, but damn! I hate running into those types of people. He's about due to come out of the woodwork for a lil drama, so we'll see what happens...
Now if I was a Redneck, I'd have said "a hunnert differnt hair colors in ten years, oh wow!"
